I personally never had a problem with anyone in the place while patronizing it either, but I can't help but find the irony of her bellyaching about "government shut downs" and "mandates" as part of the reasons she felt "forced" to do this.

Exactly. Wasn't she on the Mayor's Covid task force for business/restaurants? Not that this mayor would take advice from anyone, especially not the professionals that know all about business, but to not buck the system and complain loudly about it was suicidal. Perhaps they thought nothing would sway 2.1 and the ER MD to change their policies, and I can't disagree.

Can’t fathom how anyone would blame her, or any other owner, for not “bucking the system”
The mayor was/is a fricking moron that was fining the shite out of businesses and shuttering them. What was she supposed to do? Even if she said frick it and opened up, does she have employees, or supply, or customers?

Wasn't she constantly praising the mayor on Facebook, celebrating Covid rules, and relishing in her power to tell customers to screw off if they didn't like it? I got off of Facebook when Covid was mostly still in its peak, so I didn't catch anything she's done the past couple of years, but that's where she was at when I left.

So true. I shared a lot of good beers there with several others in this thread. It was a very well respected beer joint ten years ago. The proliferation of breweries, while good for the consumer, was not good for AP. I don't really give a shite about Polly's views, even if they're different from mine. She had a good spot for a while, and I'll give her credit for that.
That new paint job is terrible. Half the appeal was the dirtiness of it.

Yes, Zwanze day 2022 is a go!
We have already have the Cantillon listfor that weekend but we dont want to release it until Jean makes it public.
2023 Zwanze will depend on the next owners or operators and how much they value those connections, which I am willing to facilitate. So far it looks very positive. We have a lot of interest from folks who love what we have done and want to continue those aspects of our business.

I knew exactly where to go the day Bells Brewery debuted in Louisiana. As a Michigander who spent many years in Louisiana suffering without, I will never forget the taste of that two hearted ale hitting my lips at the bar at The Ave. Thanks for the memories.

Old adage? From where? I aired my complaints about the post-COVID pub earlier in this thread, but I still went there occasionally, as did many people. Where is the evidence that going woke has anything to do with the sale?
In fact, can someone tell me any place in Orleans Parish that "went woke", then eventually went of business due to the people abandoning it. Everyone here yelled and screamed about Courtyard, but they are still rocking.

The sad main reason why I don’t go to more businesses like Avenue Pub in Orleans parish is because I don’t want to get my car booted. If it doesn’t have private parking I’m out.
