Arse's Fatty Rewind™ (Tis the Season)

Lordy, lordy, lordy! My body needs a reboot. I don't think I stopped eating and drinking all weekend.
Friday after work, I grabbed a huge cup of Beam for a ride with my brother to our family's party in Venetian Isles. It's a glorious tradition known as "Santa by Boat." There's tons of food and libations to be had. After several hours, Santa appears on the back deck with gifts for the kids. The kids love that shite.
Here are a few pictures of the food options. Everything was good, but the gumbo was great. I think I had about 10 pigs in a blanket.
It wouldn't be Christmas without a hog's head candy cane. It was spicy and delicious.
This corn dip was insane. I think I spread it on top of one of the pigs in the blanket.
What's Christmas without turtles and petit fours?
After a few trips around the food tables and numerous Beams, I heard a rustling coming down the canal. It was St. Nick!
My niece wasn't as impressed as I was.
After the party, we headed back Uptown and I met a friend at The Other Bar. I got some gold fish and worked on my skee ball game.
We headed home around midnight. I passed the frick out.
I awoke early Saturday to do my Christmas shopping.I started in the Quarter, so I had to grab a drink at Lafitte's while they were cleaning. I then walked to Petite Amelie for breakfast. I grabbed a "Popper." It was a waffle panini with goat and pepper jack cheese, bacon and pepper jelly. It was outstanding. It was savory and spicy.
Since I was struggling, I grabbed a cannoli in case I started to feel weak while shopping. It too was delicious.
After running all over town, I arrived home around 12:30. We had to head to Baton Rouge for a birthday party. The little lady grabbed a quart of cheese dip from Robert's. It was delicious as always.
Before heading to the party, I ran to my buddy's warehouse to grab some samples of his rum from his distillery. I'm looking forward to when the doors open.
The party was in the Country Club. It was a small gathering with good company. There were finger sandwiches galore and some pastries. I ate a lot of the small quiches.
This cupcake was moist. I should have grabbed one for the road.

After the party, we drove back to NOLA to go to the Pelicans game. We had to run down Canal St. to meet someone who purchased my friends Saints tickets. This white dude, with an American flag cape, was walking a goat.
We got caught in a little traffic and arrived at the game a couple minutes. By that time the game was over.
Thankfully, we were in the suite and could enjoy the finer things. I ate a shite ton of wings. The hamburger was decent.
After the game, we had a couple of parties to attend. It was good to see a bunch of old faces. But it's also nice that I only have to see some of those faces around the holidays.
The first party was drinking some fancy wine.
The second party had some mighty fine snacks.
After several drinks, we headed home to pass out.
The struggle was real Sunday morning. I awoke around 7, and it felt like I had just laid my head down on the pillow. I showered and headed to mass. I got to mass a little early, so I ran to the gas station next door and grabbed a meat pie and sweet tea. The pie was good and flaky. It also had a nice kick from the red pepper flakes.
After mass, I ran to the Dome to gather amongst St. Bernard's finest to tailgate.
They had several platters. I think I shocked a few people when I began to dip my cucumbers into the cheese dip.
We then ran to our seats. On the way I grabbed some pork nachos. They were pretty tasty. The sauce had a slight spice to it.
Midway through the first quarter, we were offered suite passes. I headed that way, but we grabbed this turkey leg on the way over. It was huge and tasty.
In the suite, there were wings, meat pies, hot dogs, tacos, sandwiches and sweets. I grabbed some wings and a meat pie and sat down. At the half, I begrudgingly ate a hot dog. It's a superstition I have. The more I eat, the better the Saints play. I think I'll need to revisit that one next year.
After the game, we ran home to take a power nap. We had to head to the French Quarter for caroling. My singing makes the ladies moist.
We stopped in a party at the Pontalba building. The space was welcoming and the food was delicious. I stuck to these amazing finger sandwiches, specifically the egg salad and BLT. This dip was great too. I have no idea what it was, but it definitely had some lemon zest.
We then attempted to gain entrance to the square. What a nightmare! Since we couldn't get in, we decided to go home and pass out.
Stay fat my friends.

p.s. Everyone have a happy and safe Christmas.

Hell yeah
It's good no matter what, but on a Cracked Black Pepper Triscuit, it is another level of yum.
I have not. That name is awesome.

I dunno why, but I thought for some really weird reason that turkey leg was a rhino foot.
