Yep and i love to cook. My mom taught me cooking indoors like etouffe, red beans and rice, and rice and gravy. My dad taught me outside cooking such and bbq and fish fries. Growing up in south louisiana also helped

I got a lot of useful tips from various people, but ultimately I taught myself the most. Just by playing around with techniques - more than with ingredients and recipes, although there was some of that too. But you just play around with something until you get it right not just for you, but learn how to tweak it for a guest.

And as Bourdain famously said, the difference between an amateur and a pro is consistency.
