I don't consider myself a great cook, because even though I can follow a recipie pretty well, I don't have a natural talent for
It. There are however a few things I cook exceptionally well, so I guess I get by.
I will say that it's a whole different beast, but I am an awesome baker.

I do alright in the kitchen.

My mom, grandmother, aunts, great aunts, grandfather, uncles, my dad...all were/are pretty good cooks. Learned watching them.

Exact opposite of me. I can make good pies, but I'm not artistic enough to decorate a cake very well. Baking is where I'm the least comfortable in the kitchen. I always follow recipes pretty closely, and I don't really experiment much when baking.

Same. Cooking is easier for me because you can be very flexible.

Baking to me is like like science experiments with sugar. my best thing that I make sweet wise is definitely truffles, but it's alot of work, so I have to be very motivated. I love decorating cakes, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, all that.

Baking

Angel food cake is so simple and so delicious. Beaten egg whites to medium peaks, a little sifted flower and almond/lemon/vanilla extract.
Served with a dollop of whipped cream and berry coulis. Perfect light dessert.
