PF Chang is good.

Ruth's Chris is good, and not just steaks. Their apps, salads, sides, seafood are all excellent.

Other than fried catfish or fried soft shell crab, place is overpriced garbage.

You know, I don’t think of them as a chain, but yeah. I’d rank them at the top.

Perry’s pork chop bites and whiskey drinks are pretty damn good.

Another Broken Egg for brunch. Bloody Mary and crab cakes with fried green tomatoes.

Popeyes (spicy is the gold std for fried chicken)
Raising Canes (luv me a box combo)
Cracker Barrel

Lupe Tortillas (steak fajitas)
Pappadeaux's (lobster bisque)
Becks Prime (good burgers)
Rudy's (not bad for chain BBQ)

Copeland's (one in Slidell was always good)
Half Shell Oyster House (any seafood joint that grills oysters is ok by me)

There are plenty of chains that are good and they serve a purpose even in cities like Nola especially for families

Yeh, is the local place better? Sure. But for a family of 5 it cost me $80 without drinks at the local burger place

Chili’s or places like that I can escape for under $50 with drinks

The notion that local means it is good is silly. There are lots of local places that are terrible.

There is one right by my house but my “go to” is usually Pappacitos. Am I missing out?

I remember when they briefly expanded into Houston in the 80's. For some reason, the fact that they served corn bread was exciting to people in my family. Looks like they still have a few locations in north Fla.

Yea I think a bunch of people are confused about what constitutes a chain I see a bunch of comments about places like Blue Store that are just really good local spots that opened up multiple locations because they’re so successful.

“Chains” are places that you can go to anywhere in the country and have corporate leadership making menu and branding decisions, which is why they’re not that good on average. Blue Store, Copeland’s, and Lou Malnati’s Pizza in Chicago aren’t chains lol

How do you go to Chili's for dinner with 5 people and get out for less than $50?

Considering Sysco, Restaurant Depot, etc. local restaurants are also serving many pprepared foods that diners believe are freshly made, all without the same quality controls as many chains.
