My friend said he got a prime boneless rib roast at Costco around Thanksgiving for $14.99/lb which is pretty good these days. Hopefully they will do it again for Xmas

That’s early for them to put them on sale. I usually get one for NY Eve. How long could I keep it refrigerated before having to freeze it? Even if I bought last day of the sale it is still 11 days before cooking. Too long.

My ads in BR have Winn Dixie with Choice, Rouses with Select, and Albertsons with Select (lowest cost but requires $50 purchase). Just check your local ads.

For that amount of time you could freeze it in its store packaging and thaw like a Turkey in the fridge for 2-3 days and it will be fine if you have room. It would frozen for less than 2 weeks.

Just picked up a great marbled one at WD for this weekend. 6 lbs. These aren’t in cryovac, just standard plastic wrap. For those of you wanting one for Christmas… WD usually previews their ad on Tuesday morning, so you’ll know before the sale ends if it gets extended another week.

Got two choice from Winn Dixie today. Rouse and Albertsons had select for cheaper. Sam's had prime for $20/lb and choice for $14/lb if you need to spend some more money.

I might get another one, we have been paying $5+ for just regular chuck roasts.

Publix where I am has them for $5.79/lb (choice) and I am told they will be on sale up until Christmas. I will probably pick one up this weekend.
