Anyone here have a blackstone griddle? Looking at the 22” tabletop unit for Father’s Day , as I don’t have much of a need for the full size 36” griddle. I’ve read plenty of reviews online, and it looks like a solid product, but I would enjoy any input you baws have.

Friends have one. Everything they have cooked on it has been delicious. He has too much fun making fried rice and burgers and things on it. Maybe the fun is the drinking around it on the outside patio/kitchen

I have the 22, absolutely love it. Make sure you season it before using.

They are awesome. You can make so much stuff on them.

The one problem is that it can be pain in the arse to keep up if you're not using it regularly. I have to reseason every time I use it because I only use it a few times a year now.

this is why I sold mine. Just wasn’t for me. I’m more of a grill guy I guess, but it did great cooking

I have a 22" with the stand. FYI..... a 1 pound canister of propane is good for 2 maybe 3 cooks depending what you're cooking. You can use the 20 lb tank and conversion hose but it may screw up the regulator. DO NOT TURN THE TANK ON HIGH! They say you just need a 1/4 turn at most when using a bigger tank.

Now, I love the griddle but wish I had a 28" or the 36".
Whatever you choose take the time to season it slowly and correctly before cooking on it. It's not that difficult to keep seasoned as long as you clean and oil it after every cook. Only takes 3 or 4 minutes at most to do so when done cooking. I've gone months without using mine and only had to wipe it of before heating for the next cook, You might want to get the disposable aluminum cups that fit in the grease trap for easy cleanup of that.

Other than the things I mentioned it's something you'll find easy to use and enjoy cooking on. They have nice accessories that you may want also like the plastic bottles, spatulas and more.

Oh, you might also want a hard top lid if you get other than the 22" which comes with it. That's what I really like about the 22". That flip top lid like a gas grill.

I'v had one for 4 yaers and have not had this issue. Even if I did, seasoning the griddle is a 10-15 minute process at most.

i have the 36" version with the rear grease drain. lately it seems like i use it more for breakfast. It's nice to be able to cook bacon, eggs, sausage and pancakes all at the same time.

I just ordered a 28" combo grill/griddle on the advice/urging of coworkers who all bought theirs within the last few years. These boys are all good cooks and grillers. They were all emphatic about what a cool tool this is. I won't get rid of my grill, but they all said I wouldn't use it as much once I bought this thing. We'll see.

Does anyone know how these compare to the Blue Rhino griddles? I go look the Blue Rhino griddles at Lowe's every time I'm there but have only heard good things about Blackstone.

I just got a 36" Blackstone last week. I've made smash burgers and breakfast. Hash browns, pancakes, bacon and eggs. It is easy to use and the food is great.

I seasoned mine right before I cooked it. Get it hot, rub a light coat of oil over it. I used flax oil. Give it a few minutes for the smoke to stop, repeat a few times until the surface is black. I'm making teriyaki chicken and fried rice this weekend. I cook a lot of fried rice in my wok, but looking forward to trying it on the griddle.

I love grilling over lump charcoal but burgers especially smash burgers on a hot griddle are amazing!

Loved my blackstone, but you definitely have to put time in it to keep it up. It is like having a big cast iron pot that you keep outside. If you have the ability, I recommend keeping it inside the garage or something which would probably be a lot easier with the size you mentioned.

I bought a 36" a couple of years ago. It was great, cooked a lot of breakfasts and fajitas on it.

The novelty of it wore off after 6 months or so, and it took up a lot of space on my patio. I wound up selling it to someone on here.

I'm a griller at heart and I liked the idea of a Blackstone, but it wasn't for me.

This is precisely why I've held off on buying one. I like the idea of having one, but just not sure I'd use it very often.

I may just get a flat top griddle to put on my grill.

i'd imagine you can get that as hot as the blackstone. with all burners on, i got mine to nearly 600 degrees.

Dont.

I got one for my Primo...used it once for some smash burgers. When you have no where for the grease to go...you notice how much and fast it builds up. Scrapping it off into your burning coals sucks.

Id like to get a blackstone one day. Do those nice big 36" jobs fold up for transport easy?

you should look at the blue rhino, it folds up and the shelves serve as a cover as well.
