I am not ashamed to admit that I enjoy a Makers and Coke (not Pepsi!) or two every now and then.

I'll enjoy a nice Pappy or a RVW with coke occasionally.

Reminds me of something that happened between two of my roommates. One of them had managed to get a bottle of Pappy and had left it in the pantry. The other roommate came home late one night and drank 3/4 of the bottle mixed with coke. He figured that it was just a plain ole bottle of bourbon and he would be able replace it the next day.

How pissed was the Pappy owner?

Jack and Coke, but only on airplanes. I can't stand it anywhere else. At 30,000 feet it tastes better. I don't know the science behind it.

Me too! I find that it pairs well with a nice prime filet and ketchup.

Pretty damn pissed. 10 years later the Pappy owner still gives the other guy sh*t about it two or three times a week in the group chat. I don't remember how it was made right but he wasn't mad for long. We had all been friends since middle school so were used to him doing sh*t like that.

I drank so much cheap bourbon & Coke back in college that now I gag if I so much as catch a whiff of bourbon.

I wouldn't go that far as I will still drink an old fashioned or other drinks with burbon as the main sprit. But I agree on the burbon and coke mix. Makes me want to yak.

Same with tequila

I used to be that way. Even the thought of tequila made me want to puke. But then I started to try some more expensive tequilas and they world WORLDS better. Like it wasn't even the same drink I had in college. Now it's one of my favorite spirts.
