Every roast I make in the crock pot has a sliced onion and mushrooms. We love them.
ETA: the price of a small can of mushrooms has almost doubled over that past year- used to be somewhere around $.70-.80 per can, now they’re around $1.25.

can? Bruh
step up and use fresh. Even the supermarket button mushrooms are better than anything in a can.

Mushrooms go with beef. Period. I’ll throw some baby bellas in with a quickness.

Never. I hate mushrooms.

Canned mushrooms are just nasty, any mushroom fresh is better. There have been so many problems with the canned ones and they bring nothing to the party.
If I have a nice steak, sauteed mushrooms in butter are a must.

I'm on team no mushrooms too. If I'm in a nice restaurant, and truffle shavings are offered, I'll take them. Otherwise, I generally don't like mushrooms in anything and will skip them if they're a part of any recipe that I may be using.

I don't like mushrooms in general, but will make a roast in the crock pot with some cream of mushroom soup.

Hell, I want mushrooms on my burger along with grilled onions. Now I’m hungry.

I like mushrooms in a roast.
If you want to try something different, add some chestnuts at the beginning. They will cook tender and take on some of the flavor of the beef.

Never thought about it, but there will be an 8 oz. package of baby bellas going in the next one.
Dammit, where were you 2 weekends ago when I fixed a Mississippi roast?
FWIW, I like to throw a pound of baby carrots and a pound of baby red potatoes in with mine. I do believe a half pound of mushrooms will go nicely.

Yes, I add sliced mushrooms, after sauteing onions and garlic. I'll throw celery and carrots in as well and 2 packets of onion soup mix mixed with water. I'll add cornstarch towards the end of cooking.
Roast is seasoned heavily but simply with kosher salt and pepper. Flour, brown on all sides. Worchester sauce and A1 sauce as well.
Takes about 3.5 hours total using a cast-iron pot on the stove.

I like mushrooms.
Story.....
I worked for a company that sold products to Sanderson's Farm Co. One of the things Sanderson's Farm sells is mushrooms. Well, our salesman had them send some to our plan for all the employees.
At that time, I worked shift work and was off when the mushrooms arrived. I knew nothing about the mushrooms. When I went to the warehouse office, there were several big boxes filled with baskets full of very big fresh mushrooms.
I was told they had arrived 2 days earlier and they wanted them gone. I went and got my car and loaded up about 10 baskets [about 2 lbs each]. I left a couple baskets, just incase someone else wanted some.
The next couple of days, I cooked and ate as many as I could. I put lots of mushrooms in everything. Did you know that you can make a meal on just saute' mushrooms?

Have done this more than once! I love mushrooms.
I absolutely add them to roasts. I also happily eat the carrots and quartered onions I cook with roasts. I like the veg as much or more than the roast itself.
