Every American has been given the right to vote by those that died before them. That right was not earned by you, your boss or anyone posting on this board. It was earned by people you have never met and it was given to you.

Not really.

The American concept of rights are that they are inherent. As in, God gave them to us, not people.

And directly voting for a president was never recognized as an inalienable right.

The Electoral College was originally conceived as a true independent electoral body, not the rubber stamp middleman that it has become. And senators were supposed to be elected by state legislators.

So have we always recognized the right of people to participate in their governance? Yes, but not like it exists today, and not because any people "gave" us that right, because it was recognized as being inherent. You could say that they enforced it.

All he has to do is copy and paste the La statute I’ve posted in this thread twice, cc his HR or owner and tell the. He’s leaving work to vote.

It's not really that simple.

Actually, it is. He can ask that they give him a preferred time to go to avoid unnecessary conflict but the intimidation factor of that statute alone will cover him.

Tell them you have to leave because of imminent bad weather. If they question you at all, introduce them to Thunder and Lightning.

Tell them you have to bounce for an hour to go vote. If they tell you no, just do it anyway. If they don’t any to fire you, I’m sure you can sue the shite out of them.
