I stayed up till 11 on a Monday night to watch Oakland and Baltimore....

All because of Peyton and Eli. This was pure gold.

Peyton and Eli was way better than any normal cast. A good amount of in depth insight, but also two brothers messing with each other and just being guys arm-chair QBing

All the rumors out there that Amazon is going to try and pair Al Michaels with Peyton for their Thursday Night bid starting next year.

ESPN needs to cut the shite and just can Levy, Greise and Riddick and get a competent PBP guy to go with Peyton and Eli and MNF will be appointment viewing again. It will cost an absolute frick ton but would be a slam dunk.

Eli making fun of Peyton’s giant head. Peyton making fun of Eli’s long neck. Hopefully, next week, Peyton has a can of pam with him for his forehead.

Funniest commentary since Dennis Miller was on MNF 20 years ago.

It was smart football analysis but not condescending while being hilarious.

I just liked that they would call out stupid shite the coaches/players were doing. No straight telecast would ever do that for fear of offending someone and losing access.

They are both (Peyton moreso) slightly condescending, but mostly witty, without specifically offending anyone individually. That's what makes it fun to watch. Same with Romo in his broadcasts.

They give the fan the deep insight that almost none of us can see, but also have a quick wit to make it funny. I found myself laughing multiple times.

I loved Peyton's quip about halftime adjustments:

"Whoever wins this game the media/fans are going to say it was because of the halftime adjustments." Halftime adjustments!? We didn't have time for halftime adjustments. The elevators got stuck. Some coach didn't make it.... There are no halftime adjustments". It just goes to show how wrong some of the fan groupthink really is.

And the way the broadcast ended was great. They voiced what we were all thinking. Who in the hell is Jones? Peyton messed with Eli for not knowing who he is then ended the broadcast with a condescending "Carr to Jones. One of the great combinations in the game today.

Have to give props to Russell Wilson too. When he stopped doing his generic sunshine pumping schtick he actually provided some good analysis.

Show pulled 5% of the total ratings. ESPN was hoping for between 3-5%.

I saw the ratings. For the sheer amount of people talking about it I didn’t expect them to be so low.

So 95% watched ESPN and 5% watched ESPN2?

No doubt. They created buzz. I won’t watch the those clowns on the regular broadcast. They add nothing.

ESPN’s Meagacast has never delivered significant ratings.

CFP Championship games have averaged over 20 million viewers.

The alternative broadcasts on ESPNU, ESPN, News, ESPN2, SEC, Network, ESPN Deportes featuring coaches film room, school radio play-by-play, sky view, etc. only draw between 500,000-1M extra viewers.

Megacasts for the NFL and other sports produce similar numbers. I think 10% is the most they have ever drawn, but I don’t remember the sport or specifics of the alternative broadcast, but I think it was MLB.
