While I typically agree, a taco truck near my place sells $2 tacos that are better than sex. Also have the Mexican Coke and homemade salsa that’s ridiculously hot but still delicious

You know it’s gonna be good when there are little 5 year olds back that breaking all sorts of child labor laws

Does anyone remember the one that used to be parked in Tigerland that serves nachos after the bars close?

You've been here since 2007. You know that most people here haven't been anywhere other than the AL/FL gulf coast.

I remember the first time I went to one back in 2013 and thought "This should be good. Tasty food at a cheaper price." and ended up paying $15 for a bbq sandwich lol

Gotta but go find the ones parked in an industrial neighborhood with Espanol written on the side that look like they’ve never seen a car wash.

Don't know about industrial neighborhood, but the taco trucks in gas station parking lots around my area where the menu is in broken English are dope.

You live in the C'est Bon Motel on Airline HWY in Prairieville? Are you a prostitute?

Don Beto's Food Truck has been parking there for years. Their food is not expensive and it is fricking amazing.

it was a cool fad for awhile, but the best ones have formed brick and mortar restaurants by now I feel like.

Also, I fricking hate having to get situated outside somewhere to have my meal.

When you work downtown in a metro you can pay 15 bucks for some tacos from a brick and mortar or 9 bucks for better tacos from a food truck. It really is an easy decision. My favorite taco truck is next to a gas station so I can go get my tacos, a beverage, and a lotto ticket and still be under budget with the opportunity to win 200MM

The food trucks here are great. We have a brewery within walking distance that uses them every Friday/Saturday. And they're usually the better quality trucks in the city. A lot of them are former brick and mortars (particularly from downtown) that moved to trucks when rent went astronomical.

Our current favs:

The Celtic Pig - Scottish/Irish based. They typically have Pierogis, Fish and Chips, Scotch Eggs, Reuben Sandwiches, German Potato Salad.

Hot Buns - It's all Bao and steamed dumplings. The beef bao is Thai Curry brisket, cabbage, pickled bean sprouts, cashew, and basil. Fantastic

Goodbelly - Make their own pastrami, brisket, and corned beef (also pork belly in the rotation) sandwiches. Have tasty potato latkes for a side.

None of that is mediocre.

I think my high school baseball team may have stayed at a hotel in that area in the 90's. I remember Airline, and I remember someone asking a pizza delivery guy if we were in a bad part of town, and he said "not really, just a lot of truckers and prostitutes around here". We moved the next day to a Shoney's Inn next to a sex shop
