Source: Notre Dame will be meeting with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees in an effort to keep the former Irish quarterback in place on staff. LSU’s proposed offer to Rees is 400k above Notre Dame. Rees’ desire is to stay in South Bend at this time.

He is a ND alum, and his dad works there too. It's a family affair. I highly doubt he leaves

Odd for him to want to stay with no promise of being held over for new staff?

If ND is holding out for Fickell, then wouldn't he be a guy who should choose his own OC?

So I guess Notre Dame is forcing him on the new staff? That's kind of interesting right?

If he stays it’s because Freeman’s going to be the HC. Otherwise he’s rolling the dice with the next guy which seems risky.

How can they offer their Coordinators their jobs before hiring a HC?

That’s fine. Not really enamored by his resume. Would think our $100mm coach has a few guys in the Rolodex that would at the very least match a guy who has been an OC for barely 2 seasons.
