Its High School Football, not big name college or pro sports. They have to work around the schedules of the schools that OWN the stadiums they are playing in.
How dense are some of you?
This question proves you don't know HS football coaches, let alone head coaches & all they deal with. ANY advantage for 1 team/division/class that another doesn't or won't get is a HEATED topic. The different between winning state or losing could very well be that added week for most teams. Especially when it comes to getting a player healthy who may or may not have been in just 1 week.

The teams with a week off aren’t competing in the same class/division as the schools who don’t have the week off. I’m not sure why this is so difficult to understand.

I apologize. I shouldn't have included them there. It's not really the Catholic schools causing the problem.
De La Salle probably doesn't belong on the list. I know they used to be in a higher classification, but their numbers dropped so their classification also dropped. They didn't just go start a school with the intention of having great sports programs
Smaller schools like U High, Lafayette Christian, Ouachita Christian, and Calvary Christian are the problem.
I didn't include Evangel and John Curtis because they were already playing up. That's all these little schools need to do.

but they aren’t some juggernaut that needs to play up for competitive balance purposes.
But it would have been good if they did…

2021 reclass
I don't this is right. Someone post the latest numbers awhile and these are different. These show Ponchatoula with 1874 and the ones posted earlier had us at close to 2300.

St. Thomas More had 971 kids as of the recent reclassification, putting it well into the 4a class that it’s played in for years.
2021 reclass
That is not the correct classification numbers. That document is from 2018 and was not the final classification figures.

Here’s CP/Sterlington. Someone else is doing Oak grove/Logansport and StMar./Union Parish if you scroll around.
I’d like to watch the Acadiana game if anyone has a link.
