Not just these 4 teams because a site suddenly becomes unavailable.

Its High School Football, not big name college or pro sports. They have to work around the schedules of the schools that OWN the stadiums they are playing in.
How dense are some of you? Its frightening to think that people this ignorant are driving 4000 pound vehicles next to us at all times.

Good luck to Ponchatoula! Acadiana is coming in with an awfully young but talented team. Sophomores sprinkled in at pretty much every level of the team. Let’s hope they’ve grown up since the last time they played a team as talented as Ponchatoula (Catholic). I think it’ll be a good game. Acadiana will try to run clock and keep Ponchatoula’s offense off the field. Surprising take, I know.

It will be a great game. I think the winner of this game wins in the Dome

Is division 2/4 moved back because ULL didn't plan for them making the title game in the belt?

Might as well just move them to Tulane

plan since sept. to play that weekend. but one game may move to dome.

What game that isn’t currently scheduled for the Dome may get moved to the Dome?

Those 4 teams are not playing the rest of the field though. Who cares how Jesuit and Catholic look compared to ED White and U High?

It’s not like the winners of those games play each other… can’t believe this has to be explained

I just read this thread and I am having a hard time understanding how the guy doesn't understand what you are saying.

Might as well not like they're making it past the semi finals now.

It makes sense for maybe baseball but if you make the privates play up 1/2 divisions I think it'll be fine in football/ hoops.

Rummel/ evangel/JC were the only schools that won 4/5A pre split

this is just to end the split in 5A. There’s nowhere for those teams to play up

They were never in favor of the split to begin with, and have voted against it, as far as I know, any time issues related to the split have been up for a vote.

"Heard that" where? From whom? Link? Is it from the famous "they said" folks?

And they already beat Haynesville 49-0 in the last week of the regular season. Good chance they make it

That makes sense. 4A might be able to do that too.

The problem causing the split is with the 1A, 2A and 3A teams. Teams like University High, St. Thomas More, Lafayette Christian, Ouachita Christian, Calvary Christian, De La Salle, & Newman should play up a level. I'm sure I'm leaving out some of the other smaller private schools that recruit from larger populations than the little towns in 3A, 2A and 1A. The LHSAA worked on a plan in 2015 that separated some schools like these as "Metropolitan" schools.

Louisiana isn't the only state with this problem.

the irony is that a few 5a and 4a teams CAUSED the split when they sent JC and ECA down to their enrollment classes for a decade.

Looks like it worked. They're both shells of their former selves.

eca self inflicted

jc shrinking demographic in NO and still pretty good. but full season of 5a level ball takes it's toll too they are still pretty good.

and if they never get sent down, we don't have the split as we know it.

St. Thomas More had 971 kids as of the recent reclassification, putting it well into the 4a class that it’s played in for years.

2021 reclass

They didn’t even win the district in football this year and wouldn’t have even if Howard had stayed healthy. They also just lost in the DII semi to much-smaller E.D. White.

STM football is consistently solid at their level but they aren’t some juggernaut that needs to play up for competitive balance purposes.
