Like I said earlier, I wouldn't be surprised if Riley has NFL aspirations.

Aranda needs to be the guy LSU hires. He can create a Saban like tenure at LSU.

Aranada may be underwhelming but Aranda would be a home run

It’s amazing how many want to win the press clippings and board bragging rights vs team performance.

Seems logical. And you almost made it without mentioning harpoons, whales, or fish.

Kiffin has publicly embarrassed three of his previous employers. After O, LSU simply will not risk it.

I agree with a lot of what you just said, but not with this item…

quote:

One of the first earliest leaks was that Aranda's kids had been enrolled at Dunham School for the Spring Semester...and almost instantly "smoke" started billowing out of the AD for other candidates...

The head coach for LSU does not have to beat some sort of registration deadline to get his kids in school. The Aranda’s would wait until the official announcement to reach out to the school. Hell when we moved our kids the private school by us took them super quick - within 2 weeks. Now I know some small privates that are k-12 don’t have a ton of space and it’s hard for normal people to get it, but this is the head coach of LSU.

Riley is NFL bound sooner rather than later, and I don't think SW wants to deal with that.

This is the most ignored possibility when discussing Riley.

Whether he's at OU or LSU or anywhere else, nobody is going to hold him in college when he's offered a HC gig at Jerry World.

The "Oklahoma-coaches-to-Dallas" pipeline is historically strong, and I believe it's two or maybe three years before Riley is the Dallas coach.

Everybody keeps saying this, and yes, I know he's an alum, but I have never seen a first hand account of this being said. I can't imagine him wanting to follow Saban. Maybe the guy that follows the guy that followed Saban.

Woodward is not betting his legacy hire on a 2nd year coach who has never been in a bowl game.

That whole conference is so down that mullet is about to win it.

Absolutely absurd to rule Cristobal based upon this reasoning alone.

Fickell has not accomplished anything more than Napier. Success at a G5 and some past Coord experience at big time programs and that’s it

…there was also rumor that certain coaches were told they were being retained. Wouldn’t that be more likely with a head coach that has worked with members of the staff already.

Certainly interesting if that rumor was indeed true.

He has proven that he can slay “elite” offensive minds. Sark, Campbell, Riley this year alone. I personally think the college football offensive pendulum is swinging back to more balanced approach; where does that leave you if you hire the other trendy names?

I also think you can get Aranda for $7-8MM. Does that leave room for boosters to support NIL, etc.? $12+MM for Riley is crazy town.

I also think the defense shores up immediately with this hire and it’s a plus to have a guy with a ring on the recruiting trail. Bonus: we need an emotionally stable guy at the helm. For these reasons I would be very pleased with Aranda.
