I read this book several years ago and became pretty obsessed with the story.

They killed all their mushing dogs first of all and ate them. Then they killed penguins and Seals. They would mix a lot of fat from their kills into their coffee as well for energy.
It really is the #1 survival story out there.

Another survival story is Norwegian WWII commando Jan Baalsrud. (Book "We Die Alone" and movie "The 12th Man")

Also, the Norwegians sabotage of Hitler's atomic bomb by raiding the Vemork heavy water plant (Operation Gunnerside).
