In 1961, Russian surgeon Leonid Rogozov performed an appendectomy on his own self while on a voyage in Antarctica. (And survived)

"For 40years"....Dang, that is flipping interesting as hell and how do people survive that? It's amazing what the mind can do for you when sane, calm, collected. It's really all about being solutions oriented, right? Not a reactionary fool. Simplify the complicated.

The story of Peter the Great sending the Dane, Vitus Bering to explore the Aleutian Islands and Alaska.

They set out from St. Petersburg and hiked across Siberia in winter to Kamchatka. There they had to build their own ships for the sea voyage from scratch. I am talking about cut those trees down and build me some ships scratch with what tools they humped across Siberia.

It is Amazing how tough men used to be.
