Dog poop in yard

I currently live on a street in BR which has a decent bit of pedestrian traffic. (Garden District not NBR). In the last day alone I’ve almost stepped in 3 piles of dog shite located in my front yard. I don’t have a dog because I don’t want to pick up after it. What makes these slobbish dog owners think it’s okay for their dog to shite in my yard and then not pick it up? I can’t wrap my mind around being this inconsiderate. I am currently considering 2 options.
1. Installing one of the those shite cleanup stations with bags.
Or
2. Staking out the yard, finding the owners that let this happen, follow them home and shite in their yard.
Do I have any other options here??
Also don’t be a POS, pickup after your dog.

Before any other action just put a sign to please scoop the poop. Putting a place for disposal may even incentivize it.

My across the street neighbor got tired of the dog next door to her shitting in her yard. She asked one time for it to stop. The next time she picked it up and smeared it on the guys front door and door knob. I don’t frick with that lady.
