Money does not matter in the Woodward negotiation method. Pay him $20 Million year for 20 years. Give him another $5 Million year bonus for each playoff appearance. Then add another $5 Million for winning the championship for $30 Million year. Include an automatic salary increase of double the CPI and buy him any house he wants in Baton Rouge with 4 EV Mercedes Benz off the assembly line. And pay all of his private school and college tuitions for his children for life.
Give him another $15 Million to hire his coordinators and staff along with another $100 Million for facility improvements.
LSU can afford it. Money does not matter.

He ain't wrong. Dude overpays, but it costs money to make money. LSU winning championships makes money. Just have to pay for the coaches to do it.

No doubt. Just spend the money.
The Saban dynasty has made AL well over $100 Million in donations to the school, enrollment and merchandizing, etc

Woodward has probably told him that he will give him complete autonomy over the football program in the same way Alabama has done for Nick Saban.

If turns out to be true...this right here plus the ability to tell boosters to step back when they get to pushy, would get any HC to seriously consider the move. This ability will knock some of the salary to make up for losing some money from pissy boosters.

Businesses around the country can close complicated multi-party business transactions electronically, but LSU (not in Norman) needs to send an AD (also not in Norman) to Norman to negotiate a coach's contract with an agent (also not in Norman) and to obtain an actual signature? Doesnt make a whole lot of sense.

Some people still like talking in person for interviews.

It's not crazy.

It's looking like he's going to leave but a lot of thinga aren't accurate in your OP.

1- the flights have absolutely nothing to do with it. This isn't 2010
2- the Riley absence last week was not LSU related
3- the coaching assistants pay. Again not accurate. This is public information people can look up, so I'm not sure why people choose to spew nonsense

Big boosters started screwing with coaching aspects at OU, with program killer Spencer Rattler, who don’t need no dumb coach to tell him how to be QB, he is the next coming, per his dad that demands access to coaches at will, no one put them in line, and no one worth his salt would put up with that shite

What are you hearing since last week?

Oklahoma is notorious for not paying assistant coaches

I am as hyped about riley as anyone but this just isn't true.

Grinch makes $1.4m, which puts him in range of the top 10 for DCs in all of CFB.

Bedenbaugh makes $810k plus bonuses, which makes him, at worst, the third highest paid OL coach in CFB.

I'm pretty sure the RJ Young kid who does nothing but talk about Oklahoma football mentioned Oklahoma's lack of historically paying assistant coaches. Either way, you have just as much information as I do. You can't tell me that my original post is wrong when none of us know. I'm purely speculating based on all of the circumstantial evidence lying around.

Just curious when have there been reports about OU cheaping out on assistants? I hadn’t heard that before but I don’t really pay attention to assistant coaching hires outside of LSU.
