So what the hell happened with Riley. He was leading us on this whole time?

Exactly. It’s fun to point and laugh at though.

With the budget Woodward has to play with and the way things have gone this year, its an absolute failure.

It means there is no savior, it's basically a start over.

We are going against Our Lady of the Poor Division 3 schools in these negotiations.

And we don't even know who Woodward has even targeted, offered, talked to, etc. We're assigning failure to a situation we know absolutely zilch about. And even he did push hard for Riley and didn't get him, I don't consider that a big failure, that was always a very tough pull.

There are a lot of great coaches out there. We get one and it's absolutely not a failure.

Campbell is a great coach. Only major knock I have for him is his teams start the season slow and struggle

Honestly, if this is how it’s going down, I would much rather LSU take a chance on a young hungry football coach that has done good things at lesser tiered schools. Guys like Dave Doeren at NC State, Dave Clawson at Wake, or Jeff Brohm at Purdue to name a few. In my opinion those would be much better options than some old tired retread hacks like Mark Stoops.

Aranda is deep in talks with USC and Woodward hasn’t gone near Lane

You guys have been so emotional over this whole ordeal. It's been difficult because of the duration of knowing when Ed got fired.

Riley and Jimbo definitely got contacted but a bunch of negotiation is taking place imagine. For Riley it's not just money if it was then we'd have Marcus freeman as DC. His wife didn't like BR and preferred ND is what it is. Same going on with Riley and his wife. She might okay a move to the nfl but to BR maybe not.

Aranda probably has an offer from USC but he's not going to wait around for lsu to offer - because I imagine USC has a timeline like we do on Riley.

There's so much that goes into it - just be patient and let it all work out. By next week we'll have a much better idea.
