SW told recruits and families you will be VERY happy with hire. Stop your crap it’s not any of the second tier guys you are talking about. All I will comment on at this time

We don’t have a definitive no from Jimbo or Riley, BUT things are not trending up with either. In fact I’d say they’re trending away

They have two coaches that would crawl here if offered that i believe are great coaches...one being established and the other is up and coming...both IMO are better than Stoops....Napier and Kiffen...Either one would be fine with me if Jimbo and Lincoln say no

I have a hard time believing that we wouldn't be able to compete with USC for Aranda. Money aside, there are many more advantages at LSU at this point.

We must be nearing the end if they’ve now moved to “set expectations low” stage and get the fanbase prepped and ready for an exciting hire

We’re not hiring Mark Stoops

If true, we may as well stop trying and spending so much on football and be done with it. This is fricking ridiculous at this point. If we can’t get a big named coach to come to LSU where the last 2 knucklehead coaches both won national championships at, LSU and the whole state of Louisiana is a failure.

I don't think that's an issue. The issue is usc can be all in on Aranda where as we aren't and he sees that love and they give him a deadline for a decision which effects our own timeline.

No offense, but this doesn't add up logically. Coupled with the fact that you're overly emotional about whatever news you just heard, I just don't buy this is the actual truth. I do believe you have sources, for what it's worth.

I can’t wrap my head around it.

There’s still quite a bit of time left and things to play out. It seems so strange to be panicking now.

I like to believe Woodward is smarter than the idea of O’Brien or Stoops. I would rather an up and comer over either of them.

I hope you’re right, but he has a good thing going now and is becoming a hotter and hotter commodity.

I 100% believe this. It doesn't mean it's a top 1 whale hire. I would say this as well as an AD to recruits and families to keep everyone at bay.

Next you'll say "it's a fluid situation and things may change" right? Isn't that in the faux-insider handbook?

Wait, so all this time I thought Jimbos was Mike Bianco but it looks like that may be Mark Stoops

It's the part of the coaching search where Vol starts to take everything he hears as gospel and begins to get emotional.

Here is an article from October. Make of it what you will.

quote:

Dave Aranda is doing a great job this season. More than that, he has already beaten two coaches who have been linked (in rumors and industry-insider chatter) to the USC job. Yet, he will not be USC’s next head coach. You can take it to the bank. Done deal. Zero doubt.

Why can we speak with such confidence and clarity that Dave Aranda will not be USC’s next coach, even if James Franklin decides to stay at Penn State and Luke Fickell decides to remain at Cincinnati? Why are we 100% sure that Aranda could not become a third-choice candidate who emerges after the top candidates turn down USC athletic director Mike Bohn? It’s much simpler than you might think: Aranda would go to LSU much sooner than he would go to USC.

Aranda is a foremost example of a coach who — if tempted to leave Baylor for another job — would turn to LSU first. Aranda is an example of how the LSU head coaching search, underway after Ed Orgeron agreed to step down following the 2021 season, is affecting the USC head coaching search.
