Going to a game is an investment and LSU is asking each person to pay $100+ per ticket just to go to the game, then about the same about to park only to be stuck in traffic for hours after because BRPD has no idea what to do. Then they offer up the worst food of any football venue I’ve ever attended so that’s another $15-20 per person at least. You can bring your kids and pay all that double or pay for a babysitter. So for a family of four your asking each family to pay $600-700 and an entire day of their time. And yet the quality of football on the field is awful. The coaches are checked out so the fans have too. You can support a team from your couch for free. This is the new norm. They made the stadium too big without making it actually better and so it’s never going to be the same again.

Go back in time and kidnap Alleva circa 2013. Instead of closing in south end zone, spend that money making the place more comfortable and accommodating.

This is spot on.

All the SEC schools seemed to be in a race to increase their stadium capacity. More seats equals more tickets equals more cash revenue.

But they took the fans for granted. People expect more from their stadium experience these days.

New stadiums in MLB and NFL (and MLS, too, for that matter) have emphasized spectator comforts more than additional seats. Giant replay boards, wider seats with seatbacks and cup holders, club areas in multiple parts of the stadium, etc.

The Atlanta Braves and Texas Rangers both had perfectly fine stadiums, but they built new ones for exactly those reasons.

Places have to improve from within these days because the TV product is so good (other than the announcers, of course, who are only getting worse). Fans make the decision each week whether to go to the game and walk from the distant parking and hike up the dingy ramps to sit in a cramped seat with no back....or watch on TV.

Upgrade...or stare at your empty seats when you've got a losing team.

How about building routes out of campus. Night games are great but if you live out of town getting home after midnight is tough

I agree completely. There are at least 4 posts regarding the traffic issues leaving the game and for some reason, all of those posts have someone downvoting it? I don't understand that? Why are people downvoting something so obvious. For me personally, the traffic after the game is the main reason I either don't go to the game or I leave early. If you have kids, they are miserable sitting in traffic for 2+ hours and then they make the parents miserable with their "we're hungry" or "I have to go to the bathroom". Fix traffic and fans will stay longer.

I expect to see at least 2 downvotes from those same two guys soon. Downvote away.

The game of college football is changing

Opt outs
Transfer portals
Continually raising prices
Instability in coaching staff

The list goes on and on

You missed the hallman era so you haven't seen shite. You are spoiled because you sat through the golden years of LSU football.

You gotta be fricking kidding me. Why in the hell would anyone be excited for this LSU team taking on an equally shitty Arkansas team??

Exactly. When your team isn't championship caliber you will need to incentivize fans to attend. Parking and traffic are the big issues. Lack of port o potties on campus during tailgating is another big one. Then once in the stadium, there are zero comforts or conveniences to be found.

I have been going to games since I was 3 and been in the north endzone the whole time. There have been no upgrades to the concourse area at all. So I will again shite on the fan experience in the NE endzone as that is where my experience is:

- crowded concourse (not sure how these meet any fire code if they have to)
- long lines at concessions
- no food offerings at concessions other than hot dog, hamburger, nachos, etc
- if you want a beer then wait in line on the ramps but you can't watch the game while you do that because there are no TVs there
- a special one from this last game - after being able to spend cash at the concessions at the CMU and Florida games, this game was cashless at the stands in my area. So when my aging mom went to the bathroom and then decided to wait in line for some food and water only to be told they didn't take cash there, she returned empty handed and pissed off

TL;DR - you need to remove a lot of the pain in the arse issues that you get when you spend a lot of money to attend these games

Going to the game at the stadium isn't fun anymore. I don't care to go sit on a bleacher, listen to the drunks, and listen crappy arse music. No thanks. And don't forget the expensive concessions.

Only way I would entertain attending a game would be in a suite.

I'm assuming that "must win" means "must win in order to become bowl eligible (or at least make it more than a long shot)". If that's the case, then I think your question pretty much answers itself.

I (and my father before me) have been season ticket holders in East Lower (about 30 yard line) for over 60 years. The seats cost almost exactly the same (including Tradition Fund) as those directly across the field on the West side. Yet the conditions and fan amenities are pathetically circa 1960. If the team on the field is good (not necessarily 2019 good, but good) I'm there every game (even though I have to travel 1,000 miles to get there). But with a 5-7 season that probably should have been worse and pathetic treatment of fans, it's hard to get enthusiastic.

I was there until the final buzzer. I’m there, win or lose. We made lots of noise until the end. We, however, were let down once again by horrible coaching and abysmal play calling, while being offered crappy food and traffic that was at a standstill in SPITE of those who left early. We FANS make the university one of the wealthiest athletic programs in the country. Prices continue to increase, yet support has not been diminished.

We travel well, even when facing a losing season. We’ve hung in through the Les Miles debacle (at the end), we gave Coach O a fair shot. We’ve endured ridicule through investigations that are fodder for a rabid media.

We deserve better, and if it takes empty seats to get that point across, then so be it. If administration is concerned about “the state of the program” they need to look in the mirror first, before blaming the people who pay their salaries.

One of my head scratching stats

People get up, dressed, drive to the Stadium, park walk and leave early???? But their choice

True Tiger fans are there win or lose, kids today are pussies
