Think the bad oline has messed up his pocket presence. He’s taken too many big hits.

i have been thinking the same.

guys get worse after coming here not better so its clear they have no one as a QB coach that has any clue what he is doing.

if your QB is struggling and clearly not getting things done he needs one on one time with a good coach to work on body mechanics, feet placement, throwing motion, as well as real actual work on testing his progression through his reads and ball placement.

its like they come here and our coaches expect them to go learn all that shite off the internet or pay for private personal coach to come do that for then since the team wont

now, all that said, to be fair, we havent had anyone on this team to work with QBs and make them better in like forever. sure some guys had job titles but none did anything to make any QB here better so its not something to blaim ed for our history of never doing that, its what he learned under miles and just kept doing the same

2019 was a fluke because joe came in already fully coached as a true QB

The bigger thing is Boutte isn't there to bail him out multiple times a game

I'm sorry, but having your one experienced and elite WR out there isn't a bail out. Max has obviously been inconsistent, but not having one great WR who can bust big plays out there would hurt any QB. We have young talent at WR that could become great, but Boutte was our one great WR.

Maybe Max has an injury and we don't know about it ? And that was targeting that put Max in tent, Damnit

Yes but guys are getting open. Max isn't hitting them. Boutte is a superstar who was making plays despite Max's deficiencies.

He left multiple touchdowns on the field against Bama. Plays that failed solely due to his awareness and ability.

Wait, Ensminger had his lefty QB roll to the left? What a novel concept.

agree completely. It is very obvious that Max has been coached to virtually never leave the pocket and never run the ball on the rpo. So many times he could have picked up huge yardage if he would have not handed off. Protecting the qb will always hamper the effectiveness of any qb. He has regressed tremendously.

safe to say Peetz will never be an offensive coordinator at a major college ever again.

Correct. I think Jones gets a mid major job...Peetz will never call plays again

Peetz is an absolute disaster.
I was wondering the same thing last night. He looked like a different QB last year.

Really weird actually seeing him roll out to his strong side. But to answer the question, I just see a much better offense. Everything we do now is geared towards intermediate to long passes, which isn't Johnson's strong suit.

I said it earlier this morning or late last night, this offense seems more gears towards Myles than Max. Max looks more decisive because the offense is more decisive. Routes that develop quickly.

Peetz should be doing more to supplement Max’s limitations but there are plenty plays available that our QB just isn’t making. Go rewatch the Auburn game and it happened again last night, defenses have learned to crowd the crossers and ignore the deep middle and corners because Max doesn’t go through his progressions. He’s looking for one short crosser right away and if it’s not there he just bails and tries to make something happen out of the pocket. Could Peetz be better, sure but most of the problems are with the QB.

Two squeaky wins vs teams rated the worst defenses in the country, does not indicate a qb with superior talent.
The defense had record takeaways vs Ole Miss and Florida, a shoe throw and a record field goal was the difference.

It’s funny because this board almost universally celebrated his hire. I’m not defending him. He’s awful. I’m just pointing out how fired up everyone was and how quickly it went south. I thought he would do well so I’m also guilty.

This is absolutely correct. Any QB would falter with this OC and OL.
