I liked the throw back to Halloween 3 with the masks
Overall it was entertaining.
I still don't get how in 2018 the victim still cannot out run a killer who is walking

Pretty underwhelming. The writing was terrible. They also got lazy in how they separated characters.
“You guys stay in the car, I’ll go.” Um. Ok.

then right as the movie starts a group of kids walk in, like 14 year olds. Of course, they were jerks the whole movie.
This happened at the screen I was at too. To the point some one got the manager and they came in to tell them to shut it or leave. Surprisingly this didn't work.
Spoilers
As for the movie, I think they tried to over do the gore on this one. The scene where he repeatedly stab the dead man over and over again just to pull the one knife out an walk away, didn't really add anything. The end was setting up for the "final showdown" movie.

I like the more brutal Michael - especially the Rob Zombie version and the last movie.
I have not seen this one, but I take it for what it is when I go, and will likely enjoy it as much as any other one.

Agreed. Terribly underwhelming movie. This one is a stinker for sure. The last good Halloween flick was Halloween H20

Halloween Kills should be called, Halloween: Hell Comes to Boomertown

The part that stuck with me the most is when Michael shows how fast he can be by closing in on the officer standing in his spot. Michael has some closing speed for sure.

I took this as him trying to find the right knife to use.

Yes, that’s what he was doing. I didn’t get it either but saw some other publication and they confirmed that’s what he was doing

I took it as him just being a dick kinda like ripping the teeth out of the guy in the last movie.

Favorite kill had to be the gun car door kill made the entire theater gasp

This movie was ridiculous. It is so hard to pick my favorite kill.

I liked it. Enjoyed all the kills and there were a lot of them. The end where he killed like 15 people all of them with weapons was funny but its ok. The 39% on rt seems harsh. I'd probably say 5 or 6/10

--I liked that some of those characters from original Halloween were elaborated on and brought back through the flashbacks and included in this movie to play a role and working to connect this movie to the original, as it is supposed to be considering the timeline it takes place in with the original. Also, gives a sense of revenge needed and a true need to take down MM since they were apart of the original Haddonfield attacks. Gives a sense of real purpose rather than random folks trying to take down MM since they heard some old urban legend stories. Also I thought it was cool that Dr. Loomis was brought back (and I thought looked liked the original DL) mostly due to makeup, no CGI or deepfake.
--I feel most of the same frustrations as others with the mob and how they handled the situation obviously. Honestly, if that many people want to take down one guy, then yes, it should not be difficult, and lets burn the guy to ashes. But, this is an original slasher flick being built on and they are also building to the legend that he is not "human", and something more that cannot just easily be killed. He haunts the city. These slasher franchises would not still be around for the past 40 years (with continuous sequels made that we all watch) if they just killed off the villain, they have to make them more than human, that cannot be killed, continuously emerging again when characters/people finally thought they had them killed.
--Finally, they were making 3 of these newest Halloween movies that built off of the original. We all would have something we want to change in this, but, all in all, I think this was a pretty good setup for the last and final Halloween (until they decide to make another one, that is).

P.S. I sat next to an openly racist couple who talked all movie and were mumbling the entire time that Michael needed to hurry up and kill all the white people
definitely never happened

The Geico “why don’t we just get in the running car” commercial sums this movie up perfectly.
