Bobby had no gripes
T Bob was maybe a 2 star recruit that really had no business being on the lsu roster
His time at C and G was not stellar and his biggest gripe with Miles was Hebert not seeing the field
He would not have made a difference against that Bama front

He sure griped and snarled in a press conference right after the natty. Most people felt that it was inappropriate and unprofessional.

It was also beneficial for O that Miles got another chance in 2016. You know damn well O had DP set wheels in motion once they lost to Wisconsin if not before.

O needed more time to have his minions circle the shrimp boats and get the binder ready while under minding Miles till the end.

We were never concerned about becoming bowl eligible under Miles either. Was he ever 3-3?

frick Bobby and Detellier

Also when did Miles go .500 and below .500

Even in 2008 and 2014 when we had shite teams we still won 8 and 9 games

In 2014 we had so many DL injuries Lacouture and Godchaux where playing whole games as freshman - like 75+ snaps

His worst seasons were 8-5, after 2008 we won 9, then 11, then 13 games thats clearly turning things around.

after going 8-5 in 2014 we went 9-3 (would be 10-3 if not for a cancellation) and was damn near and should have been) fired after that season. He last 4 games into the next season after 2 loses that were basically on the last play. So he did not get a long time to turn things around, after the first disappointing season he delivered and after the 2nd he was gone less than 2 years later

Bobby Hebert and O go way back:

quote:

Hebert has a invested interest, since he and Bayou Bengals head coach Ed Oregon were teammates in high school.

“It was 4th down and I believe it was 27,” recalls Orgeron. “We’re losing the game to Bonnabel and he makes a touchdown pass, and we win the state championship. Those are good memories”

Besides getting it done on the field as a leader, Hebert was also a positive influence on Oregeron off the field. Ed went to LSU after high school, but that did not last. Then Hebert made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, and Orgeron was off to Natchitoches, Louisiana.

“I was working at the Lafourche telephone company the year I left LSU,” said Coach O. “He called me, he said, you want a scholarship to Northwestern State? I said “hell yeah…where’s Northwestern?” I didn’t know where it was.”

So, forget the phone company, now Orgeorn was off to be a part of the Demons as a defensive tackle thanks to Hebert.

“He said to the coaches down there that me and him were teammates; well, roommates,” Orgeron said smiling. “Bobby was a motivator. Bobby had gotten into the flow of college; he understood that this is what it took. So, I think he helped me get my feet started at Northwestern and showed me the ropes.”

LSU's Ed Orgeron has fond memories with friend Bobby Hebert

Let me rephrase: with the benefit of hindsight, Les was here too long, which was a mistake, and there is no reason to make the same mistake just because you made it before.

O's gimme turnaround season with yet more newly hired marginal staff is 2021 after the 2020 shite show in which he got a free pass, 2022 is not happening. It's laughable that BH & MD think O deserves 2022 to put the program further in the shitter.

he was here at most 1 season and 4 games too long, the first time you could credibly say he should have been fired was after the 2014 season (for football reasons), saying other wise is just 20/20 hindsight mixed with a little hate for his offense and a sprinkle unrealistic message board expectations.

That said, of course O shouldn't get more time just because Les did. Les had WAY more skins on the wall. 4 seasons with 11 wins, 3 top 3 finishes (Miles and Dietzel are only LSU coaches with more than 1), 2 SEC titles, 2 NCG appearances and 1 title. O's 2nd best season is the type we were firing Miles for

I loved Les. But in this scenario, it’s fair to use hindsight. The decision of keeping him is not in question, the decision to keep O because we kept ales is, which is of course nonsense.

It is funny when dumbasses like you say that O has nothing to do with winning a national title only 2 years ago. You people sound ridiculous

Ponamsky is literally relying on the guy for employment. He would be stupid not to back him.

When they shite can Orgeron I give it about 3 months before we hear that Ponamsky is writing a book airing all of Orgeron and LSU's dirty laundry. That is nothing more than a dirty used car salesman.

what a terrible argument given the disaster O has been with off the field issues
