Europe is the inbred half cousin of geopolitics. Truly.
As recently as 1940 these asshats looked at chicken as champagne. Yeah. Chicken. A delicacy. And then our industrial ag programs took over and made chickens a dime a dozen.
And here they are, wanting to hamstring those same innovations that have fed the world ever since the greatest conflict man has ever known all in the name of "climate".
If we had any balls we'd put up a fence around this country and say y'all figure this shite out. See how long the world lasts without our food and without our navy letting the global economy happen.

Champagne is cheap and available everywhere, that sounds great

This happens with a lot of foods.
Lobster used to be “poor people food” in New England before it caught on as a delicacy elsewhere. Lobstermen’s kids used to bring lobster to school for lunch and would bitch about it.

They have been requiring insurance and other things on cars forever. Are insured drivers now off the road?
They and insured will definitely be on the road less when gas is $10 a gallon.
People will do what they have to do...decide not to take that leisure drive, decide not to drive to the mountains or beach on the weekend, decide to carpool with others, decide not to take that road trip, etc
Which is exactly what they want.

People still aren’t getting it. They are transforming the country right now into something socialist. They don’t want to believe it, but it’s happening right in front of them. We are actually moving fast too. This shite usually takes many years
The climate sycophants don’t want cattle. They are going to take it or kill it eventually

I have 70 acres just sitting there doing nothing but growing hay. How many beef cows can I raise on 70 acres?

Don't even have to go that far. Do what I and many others are doing. Buy a chest freezer, buy a half calf from a rancher with independent butcher contacts, cut out the middle man. I paid 1500 for a half calf butchered to my specifications and vacuum sealed cuts. The cost savings on brisket, beef ribs, and steaks is more than enough to make it worthwhile, and I won't buy beef for a year. Additionally, the flavor is amazing! Even the ground beef makes your mouth water!

Fun Fact: I live in upstate SC, theres an Angus Ranch 4 miles away. Owner came into the Mexican restaurant tonight with price list for any cut you want. Europe, the steak industry, Joe Biden and Liberals can all suck my fat, white, American Cock.

We can only hope to be able to afford such indulgences as filet mignon soon

That is exactly what I’m doing actually. I bought one of my friends cows (He ranches a about 250) and he is getting it ready for butcher. I should have been more clear about raising my own. I got another friend to purchase half and I have half. This is my second time doing this. It’s fricking awesome.
We get them to about 400-600lbs.

It depends on water available too I believe. You can actually look that up online. My brother in law raises 3 every year. Two for him and his married kids and then one to pay for the next three and some fees and medicine. He’s done that for about 20 years now.
By the way I think you may be able to handle 30-50 cattle on seventy acres. You will just need to separate it so they eat in sections. I am guessing you don’t want to raise that many?
Or do you? Hmmmm

Oh come on.
The high price of steak has been a topic for decades. I recall columns written in the mid 1970's about it.
When I want a steak, I don't mess around. I get a good one and grill it myself. (Actually ones since I usually BBQ for my wife and guests. Usually add in mushrooms and onions sautéed together along with baked potato. And a good red wine.
Do I do this often? Nope. Too expensive. But I enjoy myself when I do. Over the labor day weekend I spent $96 on four nice steaks.
No purveyor of beef wants to price themselves out of the market. I suspect other meats are less expensive because they can be produced in a more factory like manner.

They will blame this on capitalism and a large portion of this country will lap it up like obedient dogs.
