It isn't just those nuts, this is a point where two nutty groups converge... the PETA types and the Climate types do not want animals "farmed" at all...
This is why there has been a push on the synthetic meats... and the free range chicken production, etc...

The Boy Scouts own a working ranch in NM and sell quarter beef bundles for $700 (no tax but pickup only), and you get 90-100 lbs of beef. I was tempted when there over the summer but didn't have the space and it would have been tough to keep frozen for the 2-day drive home.
