Later interviews...from Fury.

"I'm sure he'll make more excuses, he's done, I'd be surprised if he ever boxes again".

So Wilder actually told told Fury after trying for a handshake, "no I don't respect you.'

Wilder for all the goodwill is coming off like a punk again.

After 3 losses?

What is this about? I don't think Fury is telling any tales out of school that Wilder is a massive sore loser.

I was actually gaining respect back for Wilder during the fight after losing some because of those bullshite excuses he gave after the last time Fury knocked him the frick out.

Wilder can’t box for shite, but he is a tough SOB. He kept getting back up even with all the punishment he was taking. I even thought he earned the right to a full 8 count because I think the bastard may have gotten back up.

But with his post fight actions, frick that guy. Didn’t even stay in the ring for the official announcement…refused to give any interviews. Sore loser.

Can’t wait to hear his excuses this time

A few times Wilder had Fury rocked but never finished him off or was looking for the big right hand that never materialized. Fury used his size and weight to his advantaged and anytime Wilder landed a clean shot would just lean on Wilder and tap him in the body and rock him with an uppercut.

Deontay Wilder demanded Tyson Fury’s gloves were cut open just hours before the fight.

The Bronze Bomber claimed some 'funny stuff' was going on with Fury's unusual choice of glove filling - but it’s not the first time he’s caused such a delay

That's not how it's done in the fight game. You usually show respect to your opponent after the match. After three fights, none of which he won, Wilder has refused to be respectful to Fury. It's a bitch thing to do.

I feel the same way. I said all along once I saw Wilder fight that he couldn't box for shite.

He has bad footwork, too wide a stance, goes backwards in straight lines, swings those "cat fight" windmill punches like a rank amateur, comes off his feet when in windmill mode---negating any real power in the punches, has a suspect chin as he'd been rocked several times and hasn't got a good "engine"====AKA stamina to go deep in a tough fight.

His ONLY saving grace was that thunderous right hand that he'd put opponents to sleep with. Once he met a real opponent who could box, knew how to take a punch and recover, and deliver good punches to his opponent, he was done.

Most underrated aspect of the fight (maybe it’s discussed in this thread, I didn’t read it all) was that short piston left hand he kept popping wilder with relentlessly.
That neutralized Wilder’s right hand and any forward movement. Was vicious.
The commentators never mentioned it and, in fact, went waaaaay overboard hyping up anything Wilder did in the fight.
Sure he was a gamer but all this post fight praise should be out of pity not reality.

There’s supposedly a TikTok of Wilder’s team inspecting Fury’s gloves and they are not happy.

Oh my you know they had to watch Fury glove up and inspected gloves before hand. They even sign the tape used on the gloves

Wilder and his team make more excuses than neurotic LSU fans.

State boxing officials are in the dressing rooms and watch the boxer's hands getting taped up to make sure they are done legally.

Years past, some trainers resorted to using gauze that had plaster of Paris in them and they'd harden up during the fight, or remove padding from the knuckle surface of the gloves to allow for their fighters to more or less fight with lightly padded gloves to cause more damage.

Check out "Assault In The Ring", a documentary of the Billy Collins/Luis Resto fight where Resto's trainer, Panama Lewis did just what I described above. Collins was a young up and comer and Resto was more of a "Gate Keeper" but Resto won that fight and really brutalized Collins.

After the fight was over, Resto went over to Collins' corner to shake hands and Collins dad, his trainer, felt how Resto's gloves had been altered and immediately called over the ref and other officials got involved.

Resto and Panama Lewis were both criminally charged and found guilty. Resto was banned from ever fighting again and Lewis was banned from being ringside in any official capacity.

Collins career was ruined due to severe eye damage and he died in a single vehicle accident near his home, still in his 20's. Some think it was suicide due to losing his his career in boxing.

More recently, Antonio Margarito, prior to his second fight with Miguel Cotto was found to have illegal wraps and forced to get his hands re-wrapped prior to their fight. In the first fight Margarito beat Cotto, making his face swell up really bad. In the second fight Cotto destroyed Margarito and left the ring relatively unscathed leading many to think Margarito's gloves were loaded for their first fight.
