Are you insinuating that it doesn’t get close to freezing often in parts of Brazil? Because that is incorrect.

This is from the article you linked. I don't see anything about global warming.

Yep.
No longer global warming. That was racist to cold spells.
Now have to be all-inclusive.

July/August is Brazil's coldest months.

They planted the corn later than usual due to the drought.

What, exactly, am I letting sink in here?

I feel like you're trying to speak but don't know how haha This site is unbelievable when it comes to climate change. Regardless of the cause the entire world agrees that climate change is real. It's just unfortunate that y'all live in a bubble down there and are brainwashed by your redneck peers.

With anecdotal evidence all things are possible.

So... based on the article, this isn't some freak weather incident. It's implied that winter frosts in Brazil were an expected risk.

I dont think you get how the whole equator thingy works. It runs right through Brazil
quote:

The southernmost part of Brazil (known as "South Region", composed by the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul) has a subtropical climate, and the winter temperatures remind of the Mediterranean climate.

Most of the rest of the country enjoys a tropical climate. The entire country is closer to the equator than Tampa, Fl is.

"It has been a long time since we saw this kind of frosts in Brazil," Santos said in a note to clients sent on June 30.

"It is going to be a historic crop loss," Daniele Siqueira from local consultancy Agrural told Agricensus.

So getting back to the OP, yeah global warming seems to be a bust

It has absolutely devastated the sugarcane crop as well. First time that anyone can remember or has recorded a freeze in the cane belt of Brazil

The southernmost areas of Brazil experiences multiple frosts every year from July to August.

This year the frost lasted longer and was more severe, yes, but to imply that a frost in these regions of Brazil is some rare event is absolutely false.

Peej’s weather forecasts being correct are a notable exception to your statement.

I wish both sides of this debate would get out of the habit of using extreme events that, "haven't happened since......" as cornerstones of their argument.

If it has happened before, we shouldn't be too surprised that it has happened again.
