Any of yall use the grand, old Winchester 12 as your go-to scattergun?

I recently picked up one made in 1950. Very smooth action, love it.

I have a 16 gauge from my dad.
I’ll use it squirrel hunting after a bad hunt or two with my .22.

My dad had a Winchester 1400. Still at my moms house. But I’ll bring it to mine at some point.
Good shooting old gun. Not sure how old it is. Just know it’s older than me.

Pretty sure this one is a 1200 Winchester, but it still shoots well til this day. My powpow got it in the 70s I believe. About a 30 year difference in the pics below. Same shotgun and same porch. That was my first solo squirrel hunt on the right. Think I was 11 or 12.
I’ll take it out from time to time to keep it in check for him. Told him it’s mine when that time comes, but he can stay around as long as he wants, no rush.

I have a 20 gauge Model 12 that was made in 1957. I used to use it for everything, now I just use it for doves and squirrels, neither of which I hunt very much these days. My uncle gave it to me in 1982 after a hunting/fishing trip to Lake Guerro, Mexico; it's one of my prized possessions and I'll pull it out occasionally to bust some clays.

I don't, but would love to have one, in 12, or better 16 or maybe 20.
I have broken out my 30 year old 870 youth in 20. Killed a limit of teal with it last weekend.

If you didn't know, that shotgun is capable of slam firing. Just hold down the trigger while you pump.

I used a 50's 26" open on ducks for years-steel shot! Seemed the barrel got a little thinner over the years but never any issues. I own Pa's 1913 and 3 others. Rarely shoot them anymore-autoloaders now.

Model 12 in 16 gauge, Circa 1940. Shoots very smooth and reminds me of the old Bonnie and Clyde era.

My son has one of hose he's outgrown, but I've read where they make excellent upland guns for full-sized adults. They're short and easy to throw on the shoulder for flushing birds.

I have a 1400 in 20 gauge, full choke that I got when I was 13. Can't tell you how many rabbits I've gotten with it. I still use it from time to time.

Have one in 20 ga. (1914), 16 ga. (1938), 12 ga. (1957), all in excellent condition. Greatest pump shotgun of all time by far.
Don't shoot them much, but I look at them a lot!

Have my Grandpas and my Dads model 12's. Both are early 50s 12 gauge. I've shot everything from snipe to deer with Grandpas. Going to start using my Dads in October. First dove season he is not going to be with me in 51 years.

I have a 1915-built Model 12 (marked Model 1912) 16 gauge with a solid rib. I still hunt squirrels and doves with it. I bought some bismuth #5's and made a duck hunt with it for the first time since steel shot was mandated in LA. I've had it since the mid-80's and still love it.

I have an old Model 12 it was my dads I rarely hunt with it. The ones in good shape are worth some bucks.
This one has killed more ducks than most people’s families.

They were my dad's favorite and I just inherited a few.
12ga vent barrel 30" Full choke 3"mag that's almost perfect. Looks like a new gun but the action is so slick it's ridiculous. Absolute duck killer from way back.
12ga 24" full Rabbit gun was what he mostly did with it. It's got some love marks on it from a lot of use in the field chasing beagles.
16 ga 28" vent barrel full. Also pretty damn fine.
Grew up with those in the cabinet but we mostly just shot our 870 wingmasters. The model 12's and there were more that went to my brother, were permission to use only.

My Dad had two, both in 16 guage.

Dad still has his dad's
It's smoother than my brother and my 870s & 500s.
Blasts a squirrel out of the tallest oak and rabbit before he knows you're looking at him.

I have one in 12ga and a model 42 which is the 410 version. I also have a model 25(iirc) it’s similar to the 12 but isn’t a takedown.
