re: What kind of flooring are y’all putting in your homes?

If you're an adult without kids or pets, tile of your choice in living & bath areas and high end carpet in bedrooms.
Vinyl if you have messy pets/kids or are prone to spilling/dropping things. Still want carpet in bedrooms. Possibly carpet in the family room (play areas for kids).

Math 1550 is freshman calculus that AP students already took in high school.
He's a business major that doesn't want to take basic econ/accounting/finance classes....
Stop wasting your money on advanced daycare.
He should figure out what he wants to do and you should only help with paying for CC or trade school.
This didn't happen out of the blue. He parties too much or just doesn't go to class and is lazy.
He doesn't want to get the business degree you picked for him.

We plant year round in Florida. Water it in and keep watering if it has leaves.
Got the Remington car tin full of 22s before the last gift of a 10/22 from my mom & dad. I think I was 12 and uncles & cousins were tired of donating guns for a day.
re: Orleans Parish help - neglectful neighbor's untrimmed tree soon to damage property I own

That's a shame that you had to do some trenching along your property line and then needed to get those branches off your property because they were "preventing the enjoyment" of it.

Lol, no it won’t. Not close.
Materials + time = profit
I'm going to make my 'parts mark up' profit one way or another. It's just going to be on the labor instead of materials.
No man off the street is getting a better price on materials than any reputable contractor. Only a fool would do a job for cheaper (less profit per job) just because the client bought parts.

The OP is trying to avoid that markup cost.
It will be the same cost either way if the electrician knows how to make a quote
But OP is going to have every single part & piece with extra spares incase something is wrong or breaks. It will be the exact stuff the electrician is used to working with too.
OP, let the electrician do his job and make some money. They aren't short for work and it sets a tone of cheapness on the front end from you.

I prefer the Coach Letterman approach. Ban libraries and make them weight rooms

Are your plants done growing for the season?

Grill
Side burners
Sink with hot & cold
Trash
Cabinet doors for access under everything with hanging racks for utensils, grill brushes, etc.
Egg/smoker if you do it a lot
A drop-in griddle does pizza, breakfast and blackening.
Maybe a double or triple drawer if you have that much stuff.
Freezer/fridge if you're dedicated to not going back inside
Pizza ovens are a waste of space. Use the space for more countertop.
Not appliances but worth heavy consideration:
-Big exhaust fan if you have a roof
-Lighting

Drift roses can be finicky to start.
Make sure they aren't planted too deep (wet).
That much salt is eventual death for almost everything.
1) rerouting your overflow. The plants aren't hungry. Probably ph lockout for nutrient issues due to the salt
2) not much. Bougainvillea, blanket flower, beach daisy might work but winter could be an issue. Annual flowers might be the way to go.
3) zoysia should be ok if it gets enough water to flush out the salt.
Get your overflow into an underground drain pipe that goes away from everything.
Solid pipe with a box on each end. No French drains.

re: What are you grocery bills like lately? (Include # in household please)
Posted by FLOtiger on 8/29/22 at 7:11 pm to StringedInstruments
Single.
Don't really pay attention.
Probably $350 on groceries per month. I buy what's on sale that I like.
Eat out for lunch too much probably another $40/week.
Cook most nights.

Demo + prep work included?
Sounds like a deal if it is.

8-12 for the kitchen
12-20 for the structure
Just a rough guess

re: Should I use mono backing on new spinning reel if it has rubber stop and is “braid-ready”
Posted by FLOtiger on 8/26/22 at 3:16 am to GravelLotinCanada
Spool it straight. Get the first wraps to cinch on the rubber and you're fine.
Probably be about 300 of 80# too but depends on the brand of reel and line.

Did you pay for the design or not?
Big red flag is every other place coming in so low.
You should be asking the initial company about ways to cut back and save.

50% upfront isn't the issue. It's the 50% being $2000 that a contractor can't float.
I've worked at places that did half & half payments and places that did 30:70 and others that did thirds.
All are fine but not for something under 10k

Ask yourself what it would take for you to get a credit card with just a $10,000 limit
Is it really going to be that good of a deal to risk $2k of cash?

Quality of a fish is 90% how it was handled.
The "bottom feeder" label is irrelevant to any farmed fish. They are eating pellets off the top.
Wild barramundi are game fish caught like bass in Australia.
Nutritionally all farmed white fish is about the same because they all eat approximately the same diet.
It's ultimately a matter of how you want to cook it as to which farmed fish you want. You wouldn't cook a seatrout the same as redfish. Bigger meatier fillets for heavier preparations vs thin delicate fillets for lighter applications.
