I know many will disagree with me, which is ok. Ed isn't getting fired before the end of the season based upon the following:

1. Title IX- you can forget this as a justification for cause termination. If the evidence was there, our woke president would have already fired him. The culture has changed so much that you just can't hold that over his head as a trump card while you are really firing him for performance. The allegations (both known and alluded to) are serious and the powers that be will not place themselves in an exposed position for liability if something else happens while they are "investigating". So, there will be no termination with cause due to Title IX, otherwise because it would have already happened.

2. Termination otherwise ties LSU to the buyout. That is alot of money paid out essentially because of losing the first game of the season with an entirely new coaching staff. That isn't reasonable, which leads to 3.

3. You look really bad as an organization if you fire your national championship winning coach less than 2 years after he put together the team that won it for you. This will be a negative for any coach who has an established reputation as a winner. It really disgusts me to say this, but look at Jimbo at a&m. He had a rough start, lost some games that he shouldn't have, but he is making progress and the faggies support him. Why would anyone with sense want to take a job where you could be fired so quickly? The program needs to project stability and not panic.

So, that's what I think. Please tell me how you disagree, I would love to hear something that would change my perspective beyond shrimp boat and rosy finches.

If he starts losing a lot of games there is no other option than firing him immediately

I agree with every word of it. In fact I posted something similar a few days ago regarding Title IX. LSU has already taken the position in the investigation that CEO did nothing wrong. In fact I believe that is a key point in LSU's defense against sanctions and litigation. So to change that position would put LSU in a much worse situation with regard to the outcomes of the law enforcement issues or civil litigation.

I likewise agree that firing a coach this soon after the NC would deter the pool of candidates for filling the job to a "high risk" group. Currently as we stand today CEO is 1% away from being the winningest (based on win%) coach at LSU since 2000 even with the trash year last season.

We went from 2019 to being the worst team in LSU’s history. In the very next season.

Last season we looked awful and that’s putting it mildly. This season looks like a continuation of that. He keeps saying he fixes things then the next week he says he has to fix it. Again. I get coaches use coach speak but that’s not what he’s doing. He’s literally saying the same stuff every week.

I’m wondering what we’re going to look like tomorrow. If we lose against Moo State and he’s still the coach for Auburn and we drop that one too, he’ll be fired that night or the next day, in my opinion. The athletic department can’t just turn a blind eye to it.

Sure we won last week but we looked bad. Defense was better but offensively there are still major issues that have been around since last season.

I don’t see Woodward not making a move if things persist. I would assume by now he’s at least put out some feelers.

If I notice how things aren’t improving over a long period of time, the AD sure has also noticed and too allow it to continue, he wouldn’t be doing his job as an AD. He’d make a move for the betterment of the program.

This is flat out not true

The way these guys are wired, they all think they will win and win big and stay here as long as they want.

Just two days ago a poll of college coaches came out and said LSU was a top 5 job. They aren’t turning it down bc poor Ed didn’t get another year after running the program into the ground.

No one can say definitively one way or the other. You think Ed doesn’t get fired if he loses to CMU and goes 0-6 in SEC following a blowout loss to Bama?

And next season. LSU don’t fire coaches because the Rant says so.
I’m not saying I like the idea of him being here next year, I’m just saying the melt will be glorious

No, I think he would get fired in the situation you have described but it won't be until after the season.

If coach O doesn’t win out going into Florida, he’s gone.

I will give you this as a possibility. I read your posts and you do know alot more about football than I do. I personally just can't see it as being a wise move.

I’m kinda starting to think he’s got this season and what his status is for next season is tbd.

He’ll finish out the year....even at a 6-6 type of record.

Not according to LSU’s biggest booster. But he doesn’t have the ultimate say.

2020 was bad but wasn’t not the worst team in LSU history

I agree O cannot be fired for title 9. I also think that unless more unprofessional stuff happens, like he actually fights a booster, or it becomes completely obvious that team isn’t playing hard then he won’t be fired during the season.

However if we are winless in SEC heading into November I could m see him being let go.

Idk if we lose tomorrow I could see him out the door the next day. I hope this doesn’t happen but I’m definitely bumping this thread if it does.

Ed will make it through the end of 2023. JBE will see to that. They scratch each other’s backs.

He probably will finish the season because a good candidate will probably not ditch their team mid season. That's a bad look

You think it looks bad to fire your national championship winning coach two years after winning it all? What if he gets him self fired? Title IX is real and you will see how real in a short time. If you think otherwise, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
