Whether it be food or drink....what's the best thing you believe to have been the best thing you ate, or drank? It could be anything......I was at the New York State Fair one year and I'm normally a beer drinker, but I stumbled upon a wine tasting festival at said State Fair. I was curious so imbibed...it was a wine slushy. And it was life changing. I think my knees buckled at one point it was so heavenly .
As far as food....I Think the best thing I ever ate was home made traditional banana ice cream my grandma made back in the day. It was an experience.

Pretty much anything pasta

I had a butternut squash risotto at a restaurant (drawing a blank on the name) that I thought about for months after.

Had Palermo's (BR) carbonara that is absolutely amazing. It is so rich in flavor. May have to go get it tonight.

The original Snickers Bar in 1929. It was the most satisfying food at the time. Then we created a patent in 1930 it was so good and wanted the world to see.

Fried chicken dinner at Momofuko ranks up there.

A night at Bar Boulud in 2009 for overall experience, everything was fantastic and we sat there for four hours.

When I could still eat bread, a roast beef poboy from R&Os after being away for months in NJ

My grandmother's crawfish bisque. The old school kind that starts off with a sack of live crawfish and is a labor intensive bitch of a dish, but is oh so good.

Off the top of my head, a couple meals come to mind....one was a duck confit that I had at a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale that just happened to be across the parking lot from our hotel.

The other was a pistachio-crusted tuna at Dauphin’s in Mobile. Great meal all around - fantastic atmosphere with views from the top floor of the high rise building, great bread and hibiscus butter, great apetizers, great charbroiled oysters in a cast iron pan, great entrees and desserts...

My current favorite food item is the Dynamite Lobster appetizer (off the sushi menu) at Half Shell in the Hard Rock in Biloxi.

I love to eat, and for nearly a decade we traveled quite often all over the country for my kid to chase world titles in martial arts. I’d look for nice restauarants in every city we traveled to and had some very good meals over the years.

ETA: Almost forgot - stuffed lobster at Monkey’s Bar in Costa Rica was phenomenal. And my son still says the whole-fried snapper there was his best meal ever.

Veal medallions at the airport Hilton in Queens, NY on 12/30/95. I actually received a compliment as I was relieving my bowels in the restroom of some bar in Times Square the next day. I was mortified and couldn’t respond to the stranger outside the stall. But when someone tells you, in that situation, that whatever you had for dinner last night must have been awesome, I figure you take their word for it. It was a really good meal.
