Another severely underrated comic
Insomniac was one of the greatest shows ever made by Comedy Central

Bill Cosby really stands head and shoulders above everyone else when it comes to sticking with a bit.
For example pretending to be America's dad for decades while he was raping dozens of women.

I read that in Norm's voice

Surprised not to see Don Rickles or Rodney Dangerfield on these lists.
Throw in Bob Newhart and you have your Top 3. Then add Pryor and Carlin for your Top 5.
Top 10 would include Redd Foxx, Chapelle, Lenny Bruce, Bill Cosby, and Seinfeld.

Norm is arguably top 5, undoubtedly top 10.
No one can do what he did in the way he did it. You know you’re a genius when you can bomb on purpose and absolutely kill. Just look at his roast of Bob Saget, the moth joke, his beautiful destruction of Conan’s interview with Courtney Thorne-Smith, etc.
He had such a mastery of timing that he could make a room full of people die laughing at how perfectly “unfunny” his antics and delivery were. With a subtlety that Andy Kaufman would’ve killed for.
Top 5 is crowded and these lists are dumb anyway, but no greatest comedians list is complete without Norm.

To be honest, I can't even decide on a top 5 list. There are just too many comedians who have their own style. I would think Chris Rock would have to be up there.
Right now my 3 favorite current comedians are Bill Burr, Andrew Shultz and Theo Von.
Eddie Murphy's Delirious is the first stand up I ever saw and laughed my arse off.. And I was maybe 10-11 years old so he will always one if my favorite.
Patrice O'Neal was really good, but I don't know about top 5 good.

Jerry Seinfeld gets a lot of love but I don't get it. I never liked his show.

He is another really good one. Not sure if he is a top 5.. For me that is, everyone has a different list, but I always thought he was pretty damn funny.
There was a black woman comedian back in the day (she might have been big before I was even born in the late 70s. I watched some of her bits on Youtube, but I can't remember her name, but she was hilarious. Anyone have any idea who I am referring to?)

Loved Norm, unique and funny
But would not crack my top 10 comedians or SNL players
Eddie Murphy is on both lists without a doubt
Dana Carvey possibly both but certainly SNL
Norm would make my top 5 Weekend Update

Johnny Carson should be in the top 5

Carlin’s last 10-15 years were terrible
I think thats pushing it a bit there imo. Back in Town(1996) and You are all Diseased (1999)were still fricking hilarious. I saw him live in 1998 and have never laughed so hard in my life. His last from 01-08 3 specials were not my favorites and admittedly not as funny but still had their moments.
