Who is your top 5 comedians? Does Norm Macdonald make the cut.

1. Richard Pryor
2. Mitch Hedberg
3. Patrice O'Neal
4. Dave Chappelle
5. George Carlin

I love Norm but not sure if he makes my top 5 for SNL comedians.

1. Chris Farley
2. David Spade
3. Eddie Murphy
4. Kevin Nealan
5. Norm Macdonald

List without Steve Martin is not a list.

Your list needs more Eddie Murphy.

ETA: Your top list, obviously.

It's pointless to rank comedians like that. He was one of the greats.

A top 5 for me as well. Easily the most underrated comedian of the last 20 years

If you've got an hour to burn, here's one of his performances at a club in LA. It might be the purest show of his that I've seen

Both Spade and Nealon would say it’s absurd for you to put Norm over them.

Prisoner of the moment here but now that you look back on his comedy, you can really appreciate just how good it was. He seemed to always be throwing fastballs.

Yes, I think you can put him in that upper tier.

I’d toss Robin Williams in the top 5. Brilliant mind with some hilarious work out there

The problem with Robin is he may have been a joke thief, and if he’s even rumored to be such that disqualifies him. I think Robin was a better performer than he was an actual comedian.

Surprised not to see Don Rickles or Rodney Dangerfield on these lists.

these arguments are so silly.

Athlete, musician, actor, comedian..

It changes constantly depending on your exposure.

Love Mitch and Patrice but they don't have the longevity necessary for top 5.

Respect Carlin but just not my thing.

That ol piece of coal definitely top 5 if not goat imo.

It was a tough choice between him, Lenny Bruce, and Louis CK.
