Two tracks:
A decent Republican should run against Abbott in the GOP primary to make the case and at least weaken Abbott for the general.
Decent Republicans and Independents should plan to participate in the Dem primary, to help Democrats nominate the most electable candidate.
Also, he prefers now to be called a liberal internationalist rather than a neocon.

I find people like him fascinating because by all appearances, he must certainly be reasonably bright. And yet, he's completely unaware of the reality that a large majority of liberals utterly hate him and all they see when they look at him is an "old white man".

WTH? Is he lost is more than Biden at this point?
If a good Republican beat Abbot in a primary they that good Republican would be in an even better position to beat a Democrat in the General election.
I agree a Republican should run in the Democrat primary because the Democrat would lose and it would not even be close. Democrat voters would be glad to see they can vote for a "D" candidate that is not crazy far left.
