Not sure how helpful this will be to the conversation, but, a day or two after Laura, I still had reception in LCH. Had to deal with quite a few dropped calls, make a few attempts before call went through, etc., but it wasn’t like with Rita where there was literally no communication other than landlines.

I’m in the LP and will be working to get power restored tomorrow for everyone in the area who has Entergy.
Stay safe tomorrow when you decide to go out and assume every downed power line is energized.
If you have questions about your power outage situation, I’ll be online all day tomorrow and through the week working with crews to get people back online as fast as possible.

We're sending 16 folks from Ohio (AEP contractors) to do damage assessment. Most likely headed out tomorrow. Doesn't stop the hurricane but hopefully it helps!

If there is a family in need of getting out of town for the week, please read:
I booked a 1 BR condo for our family vacation in Santa Rosa Beach with check-in Monday evening. It’s looking like it will be impossible for me to get there in time now since we’re traveling from Houston.
Check in is Monday (8/30) evening and the reservation lasts until Friday 9/3 morning.
If someone needs it we can transfer the reservation over the phone. Simply asking for reimbursement of the reservation. $815 for 4 nights (1BR w/king and pullout couch, 1st floor beachfront). Not a bad place to regroup and reset before tackling the cleanup.
