Hurricane cooking?

What are y’all planning to cook during this hurricane? I got my gumbo supplies and will be cooking tomorrow morning

I checked the fridge and the back pantry. I've got 20lbs frozen leg quarters and four jars of various Cajun Power. Red and White beans. A smoked hog jowl, some tasso, and smoked sausage. Plenty of bread and milk for those milk sandwiches and enough toilet paper for two pandemics. If we lose refrigeration, I'm eating the frozen prime beef filets first.

Currently I’m smothering some thin chops in a nice dark gravy with okra to have over rice.
Tomorrow won’t be cooking but Sunday I’m deep frying and breading more pork chops to have with eggs, bacon, sausage gravy, biscuits, and smothered potatoes.
After that, it’s whatever the freezer provides, and I’ll just stick a pot on the pit. Sauce piquant.. gumbo.. sausage.. boudin.. smoked pork shoulder.

I've got 2 fridges with freezers and a designated 21 cu. ft. upright freezer full of stuff.
If I lose power for a few days I'll be feeding the neighborhood since between all the freezer space I must have $1000 worth of chicken, beef, pork, sausages, fish, shrimp and other prepared food.
I'm just hoping the power won't be out long but do have access to a generator to keep at least a few things running.

Keep some ice cubes in a ziplock bag in your freezers. If they melt and refreeze, you'll know your food did too. Good luck. This thing has me dead centered in the cone. Fortunately, I'm 80 miles from the coast, I don't have to worry about flooding.

I saw if you freeze a cup of water and put a coin on top of the frozen water. If the coin is still on top of the frozen water you’re good. If the coin makes it to the bottom and refreezes then it’s bad.

Same. That will be dinner.
Also have some steaks in the sous vide to have with the breakfast spread. Might actually save the fried pork chops to go with the red beans later instead of with breakfast.

We’ve made a very decent dent in the Kartchner’s, stock, but still have quite a bit as well. I don’t think we will need to dip into it unless we are still without power mid week.
