Comparing SARS-CoV-2 natural immunity to vaccine-induced immunity: reinfections versus breakthrough infections
Reason #323 to take the vaccine passport idea behind the barn and shoot it.
quote:
Results: SARS-CoV-2-naive vaccinees had a 13.06-fold (95% CI, 8.08 to 21.11) increased risk for breakthrough infection with the Delta variant compared to those previously infected, when the first event (infection or vaccination) occurred during January and February of 2021. The increased risk was significant (P<0.001) for symptomatic disease as well.
When allowing the infection to occur at any time before vaccination (from March 2020 to February 2021), evidence of waning natural immunity was demonstrated, though SARS-CoV-2 naive vaccinees had a 5.96-fold (95% CI, 4.85 to 7.33) increased risk for breakthrough infection and a 7.13-fold (95% CI, 5.51 to 9.21) increased risk for symptomatic disease.
SARS-CoV-2-naive vaccinees were also at a greater risk for COVID-19-related-hospitalizations compared to those that were previously infected.
quote:
Conclusions: This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity. Individuals who were both previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 and given a single dose of the vaccine gained additional protection against the Delta variant.

Seems like there is a hierarchy (like OT tiers):
Tier 1: Vaccinated and prior infected
Tier 2: Prior infected and unvaccinated
Tier 3: Vaccinated without prior infection
Tier 4: Unvaccinated without prior infection

Anecdotal: We had 12 of 19 employees get covid in the past few weeks. Two had been vaccinated. One had covid prior but was not vaccinated. All the rest were unvaccinated.
Of the seven of us left standing, three of us had already had covid. Two of us that had already had covid were also vaccinated. The other individual had already had covid twice. Three others were vaccinated but had not previously had covid.
Conclusion: We don't know shite about frick.

From the website in bright red text:
Interesting if true (although it's not an argument against getting or requiring vaccines) along with the claim that a booster shot gave a boost to those with natural immunity. We'll have to wait for peer review to see if this goes the way of the fraudulent ivermectin "study."

Peer review is worthless. It assumes peers are unbiased and competent in their fields, assumptions wholly unfounded in 2021.

I dont think people were really saying vaccine > natural immunity. its that vax > unvaxxed.
both groups will get natural immunity if there's a breakthrough/infection. I dont think this article should be surprising. the vax is known to use a shorter lived arm of the immune system which doesnt really involve a strong production of the memory type cells that natural immunity does.

They absolutely were. I had a discussion with a nurse the other day where they were saying that the vaccine zeroes in and focuses on the spike protein in order to recognize it and attack it. "Natural immunity doesn't do that". What??!!

Yet you still have a bunch of Karen nurses (who think they’re intelligent) bossing people around on here and on Facebook to take the jabs. They’re tired and out of sympathy, y’all!

I don’t follow Covid news but it seems like Israel is the only country doing Covid research.
