Why not bring in the entire 82nd???? Maybe the 101st. Now how do you get them out? In Saigon you could take a boat out to a waiting US fleet. At Dunkirk the British and French had boats as well. Here we are landlocked and surrounded by high mountains.

Paratroopers might be an option, but if the Taliban are aggressive than it could turn out to be like shooting ducks in a barrel. However, logistically a nightmare at best, and would take time for the amount needed.

They aren't going to drop in with a parachute drop on a landing zone. They will be flown in.

My first thought was this was some sick spin from the media. There are Afghans literally trying to hold on to planes from the outside as they take off, and falling to their deaths.

Good luck with that right now, again, the videos from earlier make that seem suspect at best... and that is before the Taliban has shown up.
Flying into there has to be quite stupid at this point, the airport has to be secured first.

You do understand they aren't going to find the Taliban Army and drop our guys on top of them right?
You also understand that the Airforce will bomb and strafe the absolute frick out of any Taliban within 10 miles of the planned drop zone right?
Biden is stupid and useless, but he doesn't tell the military what tactics to use in combat situations.
