NBA legend Michael Jordan stated :"I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed.

Not once did he claim the mental burdens of being Michael Jordan are too much and he would no longer take the big shot if it was needed.

The media has rallied around Simone Biles and lionized her for dropping out because of the mental burden of her stardom. Some are even claiming its racist to question her actions. She was the larger than life black super star the media so desperately needed to cling to. Meanwhile other great black athletes rise to the occasion without being " burdened " by their own fame. Michael Jordan, Kobe, the greatest player of all time Bill Russell , Jerry Rice, Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays and on and on handled their stature whether they succeeded or struck out.

Simone Biles actions are the epitome of the " triggered " generation. Female soldiers around the world who are dodging enemy weaponry would love to have the stardom and adulation Biles has received. If she did her best no one need ask for more, whether it was good eough or not.

This. A generation that has spent all their time posting their life on the internet and wanting every person to say hooray for you.

Biles is a hero. Remember the time Tom Brady threw an interception and then walked off the field not to return?

Paralympic athletes wake up with more obstacles than this bitch has ever faced. And she's getting her sorry arse kissed for quitting on her team.

If Michael Jordan missed a shot he didn't risk a crippling injury.

Simone Biles has accomplished in gymnastics as much as Jordan did in basketball already.

She's not a hero but she also isn't an awful person. Don't misdirect your frustration with the MSS onto this young lady. It's what they want you to do. They are the ones making this into a clown show.

Of course Scottie Pippen did take himself out of a playoff game because the play wasn't drawn up for him, which seems far worse.

On the one hand MJ is the goat and Biles surrendered that claim the other day.

On the other hand Jordan is a miserable human being so I’m not really sure his take on mental health is all that great.

Remember when Jordan quit basketball to play baseball.

Was Jordan molested by the team doctor?

I remember when he was quietly suspended for gambling too.

To me, the difference is the toxic arse social media world of today. Young "kids" like Simone watch that shite all day and absorb it like a sponge, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I'm not saying she's right, but when you live your life in social media, you also die by social media.

I'd guess she is probably less involved on social media than most of the people here.

One of the articles I read specifically mentioned social media as being part of her breakdown.

Shove your participation trophies up your arse, you are what’s wrong with this generation - we are fricked if invaded.
