Sip a Venti dark roast and eat a salad. A new Northwestern Medicine study shows coffee consumption and eating lots of vegetables may offer some protection against COVID-19.
The authors believe this is the first study using population data to examine the role of specific dietary intake in prevention of COVID-19.
“A person’s nutrition impacts immunity,” said senior author Marilyn Cornelis, associate professor of preventive medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. “And the immune system plays a key role in an individual’s susceptibility and response to infectious diseases, including COVID-19.”

One or more cups of coffee per day was associated with about a 10% decrease in risk of COVID-19 compared to less than one cup per day. Consumption of at least 0.67 servings per day of vegetables (cooked or raw, excluding potatoes) was associated with a lower risk of COVID-19 infection. Processed meat consumption of as little as 0.43 servings per day was associated with a higher risk of COVID-19. Having been breastfed as a baby reduced the risk 10% compared to not having been breastfed.

I drink coffee everyday and have never had COVID. The math checks out.

One or more cups of coffee per day was associated with about a 10% decrease in risk of COVID-19 but a 10% increase in risk of the shits.

There are countless studies and massive amounts of data that prove how effective vaccines are. Yet some folks who are a half bubble off center will still reject them.

I keep waiting for a study to demonstrate how coffee causes cancer or something. But a cup every now and then is apparently pretty healthy by itself.

Are you saying free McDonalds for testing wasn’t a good idea?

I bet the study was funded by the coffee lobby

Good thing it is the most widely consumed beverage in the world outside of water

I learned that shite when I was in middle school science class, last century. This lady had to do a study to deduce this new "revelation"?
What's the next study on? Breathing helps you live longer?

So a couple months ago a study showed that drinking two cups of coffee a day increases sperm count by 4x, now it gives COVID immunity?
The wife and I are gonna have about 12 COVID immune babies with as much coffee as I drink

No wonder I never got Covid. I’m addicted to coffee.

So that’s why poor, overweight, extremely unhealthy people are dying from COVID. They can’t afford a Venti anything or salad. You can feed an entire family on the price of one healthy meal at any restaurant.

Fake news. That's the narrative lazy people tell themselves when in reality they'd just rather eat fast food.
You don't have to buy coffee from Starbucks. They sell it at the grocery store. Vegetables and meat from the store are cheaper than a 3 piece from Popeyes.

I don't agree with this exactly, but not being a fat arse helps not being hospitalized, could still get sick.
