How could it end when only a third of the south has been vaccinated? The vaccination rate for Louisiana is 36.6%. Mississippi and Alabama are 34.2% and 34.1%, respectively.

Sad.

These vaccinations don’t stop people from getting Covid. 8 of the lawmakers from Texas who went to Washington have tested positive for the virus so far and every one of them said they were vaccinated. You people don’t know what you’re talking about.

IT GETS THE POKE IN THE SKIN OR ELSE IT GETS THE HOSE AGAIN!!!

Actually, I'm sure the coaches are probably thrilled about this.

Football is going to continue but the fan experience will likely be limited to only those vaccinated

A good friend of mine (works out at LSU) said that there was a LSU Higher up meeting with Faculty and Instructors and the issue of vaccinations came up. The Admin, who are all new said that they had no authority to mandate vaccinations. Allegedly, a Professor from the Law school said they do. It seems Indiana in Bloomington was going to mandate students get vaccinated, a group of students filed a suit and the Federal Court ruled in the favor of the University. Students who don't want to take classes on campus still have the opportunity to schedule classes on-line that are offered.

This was the case he was referring to.

So please I am not saying I know what the heck LSU is going to do (I have no clue) but it does seem they do have the authority to mandate vaccinations for on campus students and thus stadium entrance for football.

I am not advocating either position, I am personally vaccinated so I am going to be able to go to games regardless.

That may be true, but it does mitigate the probability of getting it and for those who contract it and have been vaccinated, it lessens the serious symptoms that could result in the Hospital system being overrun.

LSU has free vaccinations on campus and is giving out prizes to students who are vaccinated. Unfortunately the anti-vaxxers are keeping everyone in masks. The states with the highest Vax rates have empty covid wards and things are back to normal.

Well I do think there is a correlation between higher vaccination rates and lower Hospitalization rates in COVID-19 wards. So I don't disagree with you. I am vaccinated and don't get into arguments with the anti-vaxxers but if LSU goes back to restricted Stadium capacity, the anti-vaxxer position is going to be largely the culprit.

I am hoping two things 1) More LA folks get vaccinated and 2) this new surge runs its course before LSU at least plays Auburn by game 5, if not sooner.

The rise in cases is directly related to the geographical vaccination rates as demonstrated in the below graphic. Look how good the northeast is doing - most of those states have vaccination rates above 60%.

Also peep the granola nutjob portions of eastern Oregon and Washington states.

But you keep believing what you want since you’re so smart.

That is true, but again, of the people getting it some 85% or so or unvaccinated and among the vaccinated people who did contract it, they are less likely to develop serious symptoms that require hospitalization.

There is an straight forward solution, get people vaccinated in the southeast. Not easy though.
There are people all over the world begging for vaccines, and many here in the South can not be bothered to get one that is offered for free.

No it isn't. Politicians are the culprit. Name a democrat or a medical bureaucrat who has been consistent on the use of masks, social distancing, or vaccines.
