How OU and Texas are blocked from entry into the SEC

Money talks.
Arkansas and Texas A&M have two of the deepest pockets in the conference, and they have expressed their lack of enthusiasm for the potential move.
Arkansas, through the Jerry Jones connection, approaches Missouri. Three Arkansas home games over the next 10 years are offered to be played at Jerry World. The gate is split, the gate is 60% Missouri, whatever it takes to buy the vote of no.
Texas A&M pulls the exact same move with Ole Miss, through the connection of Bjork being the former Ole Miss AD. The Aggies offer three home games over the next 10 years to be played at NRG stadium in Houston. The Aggies offer whatever gate deal is needed to secure a vote of no.
The vote of no is more important to Arkansas and TAMU than the money.
I don't see any way that the conference could stop side deals like this from happening.
Can Missouri and Ole Miss be bought? I don't know, but I would expect the effort to be made to find out.

Arkansas has deep pockets? News to me.

So in your scenario, Arkansas has more money and influence than Bama, UGA, Auburn, Tenn, Florida?
Gotcha
Gotcha

Yeah A&M and Arkansas hold the most power in the SEC for sure….

Which is why everyone except A&M is saying that this is going to happen

That’s quite a creative scenario you’ve dreamed up. Realistic? Hell no. Extreme overreach. Not even practical.

A&M is the only team in the conference who would at all be against this happening, because they want to be the only team in their state in the SEC, and I would hope that even they are smart enough to do what is best for the conference. And adding OU and UT to the league is what's best for the conference. If they go elsewhere, we will take a step back from whatever conference they go to. We have been a pioneer in football since we added Arkansas & South Carolina and made a conference championship game. I hope we continue to be the pioneer to the changes that are coming to college football in the next 10 years.

A&M has ZERO stroke and street cred in the SEC to throw weight around... THEY frickED

If it was just about money, they would have leveraged the Big 12 to get more money from them. This seems to be more than just money. SEC and Texas want progression. And Texas isn’t happy with the Big 12. Who would be.

It does. And Texas & OU have a shite ton of it.

Come on. This did not happen over night. The SEC, TX & OK have been at the table for a year. Da key already has t(e needed votes. The process may not happen overnight, but it is a done deal imo.

They aren’t going to be blocked. The SEC is going to take them.

Your argument for keeping them out is that money talks? That’s precisely the argument for why they will be allowed into the conference.

A more realistic approach would be to go to UF & say we’ll vote against FSU. Then go to USC & say we’ll vote against Clemson.

I hope this isn’t a real take, because it’s so far off base

you're not following things very closely. The deal is almost done.

I don't know anything about AR and A & M's money, but there are 3 - 4 SEC schools that will vote strictly on what makes them the most money with no regard to the competitive balance of the league. I don't know the lengths AR and A & M will go to get 2 other teams to vote against it, but it could happen if they make a good enough deal to those schools to vote no.
