I never been, but I am assuming its not my type of place. Am I assuming wrong?

Wife and I stayed at Big Cedar Lodge, which was incredible, for about a week. One day we went to Branson for the giant arse aquarium at the Bass Pro there. Outside of doing that, we didn’t do much in the city and mostly stuck to the Lodge area.

How are we supposed to know what your type of place is?
Old people love it so I assume it is wheelchair friendly.

Never been. I picture it being popular with old, fat white people that still clip their cell phones to their belt.

Branson is like Las Vegas if it were run by Ned Flanders.

We went and did the whole deal almost 20 years ago. From what I’ve heard, it’s changed a bit

I went once with family when I was about 10 (30 years ago). Never again.
I did see Wayne Newton. That’s my only consultation.

It is a family friendly vacation place. We used to go with the family to Silver Dollar City and even checked out the Dollywood Stampede show. Don't expect any nightlife or bars to hang out in.

Table Rock Lake is pretty nice and there is a lot of outdoors stuff around there. My mom is from that area so we used to go a lot to visit family.
Branson itself is pretty meh to me.

My ex wife went in the late 80's. Then, it was the most boring place a 20 something could visit. We were the youngest people at almost every place we went and weren't into crafts and such. Stayed one night and split.

We stayed at Chateau on the Lake (think that was the name) did some fly fishing below the dam, horse back riding and Silver Dollar City. Also Dogwood Canyon was very enjoyable.

It can be fun for kids and families. Silver Dollar City, the shows, etc. The best part of Branson is the area. Table Rock Lake is one of the best lakes I’ve ever been to.

It seems to be the only vacation option for old country people...not sure why but I hope I never reach a stage in life where I give up and vacation in Branson

City sucks. Table Rock Lake, Big Cedar, Bass Pro, and Golf are great.
But, I want to emphasize, Branson, itself, SUCKS.

We went years ago and my 14 yr old son went with a group a few weeks ago, they loved it.
Silver Dollar City, go carts, putt putt
It's a family friendly atmosphere as far as I know, if you have kids it should be fun

Let me start by saying you would probably get better results on the travel board --
Yes I have been several times, and yes it is true that there are a lot of shows that cater to older patriotic conservative christian types, so there can be an overly churchy feel that turns some people off. And many of those shows can be too hokey and corn pone. The main drag through town is Hwy 76, very compact with tourist traps and a lot of people. All that congestion can be very frustrating, and it is hot and humid in the summer. Not Louisiana humid, but still steamy.
Aside from that, they have Table Rock lake which is beautiful, several very nice golf courses, also Silver Dollar city which is a cool amusement park. I took my daughter often when she was little. She liked whitewater (water park) magic shows, animal shows, the zoo, acrobat show, titanic museum, bumper boats, swimming at the hotel pool, getting ice cream. There's plenty of things for kids there. We only lived a couple hours away so it was easy to take a quick trip. I enjoyed it, there's plenty of things to do and see. You won't find strip clubs, night clubs, people walking down the street with an alcoholic drink in their hand, massive hotel properties, or Vegas type pool parties. But there are plenty of restaurants with bars if you want to enjoy an adult beverage.
