How many of you went to summer camp as a kid? Not day camp, but go away for a few weeks?

How many of you have sent your kids to summer camp?
The Mississippi vs. Colorado fat thread got me thinking about it.
Yes, I have some excess tonnage now (age, job and sloth), but back in the day I was a fit young buck, in large part because I want to summer camp every summer (pretty much for the entire summer) for about 10 years - first as a camper, then as a counselor.
I know mine have gone to summer camp (my son is a counselor now), but I am not sure how many other parents still send their kids (versus letting them hang around and play video games all summer).

Summer and winter camp at Camp Edgewood in Boy Scouts. And no, I wasn’t touched.

Not all summer long, but week-long camps here and there.
Boy Scout camp, 4-H camp, band camp (the only time I've ever been to Bunkie, LA - but let's here it for jazz improvization!)

Didn’t seem like that was much of a Louisiana thing. Don’t remember anyone doing that growing up other than 4H camp.

Alpine summer camp.
Somewhere in Northern Alabama.
Was a fun 4 week outdoor camp.
Very "camp anawanna " vibe.
Went when I was 12, 13, and 14.

Went to a few traditional summer camps and a lot of basketball camps, all 1-2 weeks long.
I will definitely send my kid once he's old enough. I have some great memories at camp and always enjoyed them.

Often went for a week to Boy Scout camp

Just soccer camp once. All of the summer camps I knew about growing up were church camps, and being Catholic in Alabama, none of them were affiliated with the Catholic church. We were relatively poor as well, so it really wasn't an option to begin with.
My daughter went for a few years, but got bored with it after going in 2019. Son went once and hated it.

Camp Hartner (sp?) in Pineville 2 years in Middle School (97-98 maybe). My brother was a counselor so my parents weren't too worried about me being there for a week. I remember it being a lot of fun and playing a lot of 4-square before the concession booth opened.

Yes, month long. One of the saddest things to me is how we’ve effectively ruined these for kids. Some of my absolute greatest memories as a child was from summer camp, and I’m still good friends with many people from there.
Much like a lot of things, the liability they must carry now and what not, they have gotten absurdly expensive. On top of that, parents are sending their kids to sports camps after sports camps because obviously they are going to the pros. It is unfortunate.

Perhaps a better question is who went to Mr Wonders camp?
