I was in the coup of Honduras back in like 2007ish maybe 2008. Had to drive through night break curfew. Waited inline in an non air-conditioned bus for 3 hours in worse than Louisiana swampy heat to get enough gas to make it to airport with dirt floors to fly out the country. Tell you what though that was learning experience. Washing kids feet at the orphanage and giving them new shoes. These cats had deformed feet from having one pair of shoes fromage 5. They had to wear shoes cause all kinds of things like worms they could get walking barefoot. We also helped build water pump, community center, and put up some soccer goals. I seent dictatorial coup up close and personal.

One of my friends was in Honduras with the Peace Corps, living in a place where he had to shite and shower in the back yard with a hose.
He was there for an election in the 90’s and was amazed how the parties campaigned by painting rocks and mountainsides with the party colors, and poor people just voted for the red team or the blue team. We may not be that far off here.
