I understand rules are rules and all of that, but if the best of the best aren’t participating, then the 100m and the relay are second class events imo

If she simply didn’t smoke weed, she’d be participating. Saying weed shouldn’t be tested for is a different issue and has some merits however she knew it was a banned substance and smoked it anyway. Actions have consequences.

I believe there was a chance she could do the relay as the suspension would end before the relay race.

She was technically eligible for it because it was a 30 day suspension and the relay fell outside of that 30 days.

I like her and I feel bad that this happened. She knew the rules and potential consequences of these actions as she said. She will have to live with them unfortunately. Hope she comes back stronger.

Her suspension will be up before the Tokyo games are over. It eliminated her from the 100m individual schede but she could still make it for the 4x100m relay.
