She likely would have gotten a big payout for winning Gold. Then endorsement deals...

The whining she is doing about how she deals with pain is of no concern to anybody else. Pfffttt Whatever.
There are rules. You broke them. Stop whining. Many people in this country are hurting and dont smoke weed because they are responsible adults and need jobs.
Get off your soap box. I'm it is your emotional pain is why you were on the pot.

Good. It’s a rule and she should’ve followed it. May be a rule a lot do not agree with, but it’s a rule.

What is clouding your judgement here? If half of the Alabama sucks football team gets kicked off because of something like this then 99% would be saying they broke the rules and they are out. She knowingly broke a rule that she was very well aware of! This wasn't the 1st time so smoked! She has taken responsibility but she also tried to say it was in a state where it was legal! Like the world cares about that! If she went to the Olympics then it would be all about her and the freak show around her! She is out and I am glad!
See, this is comment right here is where you out yourself. In the last thread, the one about her suspension, this was one of your messages:
quote:
Everyone in organized sports agrees to play by the rules and testing. They sign the document! Who cares what recreational drug it is! If it is on the list stay away from it period. If you don't stay away and you are stupid enough to get caught you do not get to play period! Violate the rules and you get kicked out of legitimate programs. We have all seen this no matter what your opinion of the drug is!
You were Mr. Rules there. She signed a document, she broke the rules. And she accepted her 30-day punishment. You should be satisfied with that, right? It's about the rules. The document. What she agreed to. That was paramount to you.
This is where a person who cares about the rules and playing strictly by the book at all times would be satisfied. In fact, it's the perfect outcome. She broke the rules. She got punished. She accepted her punishment...If you were that person, your interest in this matter would have ended there.
But...fast-forward a few days.. Now it's time to select the relay team, which under these same rules you demand she be held to and punished under, she is eligible for.
You had a choice here to be one of three people:
1) The Crusty Old Man: The Crusty Old Man is someone who decided to make a point about the rules and seeing them followed as agreed to, regardless of how dumb the rules are. The Crusty Old Man is technically correct, just as he was technically correct when he reported his neighbor to the HOA after measuring said neighbor's grass and determining it was .0102mm too high. The Crusty Old Man would be satisfied at the result and not give a flying f*ck whether she's selected or not for the relay.
2) The Crusty Old Tiger Man: The Crusty Old Tiger Man is also someone who decided to make a point about the rules and seeing them followed as agreed to, regardless of how dumb the rules are. The Crusty Old Tiger Man would be satisfied with the result and then cheering her on to get picked for the relay team and the LSU representation it brings.
3) The Crusty Oldster With a Personal Problem: The Crusty Oldster with a Personal Problem is similar to The Crusty Old Man and The Crusty Old Tiger Man. But they lack the integrity (and probably any measurable length) to be called "Man". Like The Crusty Old Man and The Crusty Old Tiger Man, The Crusty Oldster with a Personal Problem is also someone who decided to make a point about the rules and seeing them followed as agreed to, regardless of how dumb the rules are. But, The Crusty Oldster with a Personal Problem isn't satisfied with this result. No, it was never about the rules for them.
The Crusty Oldster with a Personal Problem is thrilled she's left off the team:
quote:
She is out and I am glad!
quote:
it would be all about her and the freak show around her
quote:
Why do we as fans put up with these freak shows? .
A month ago when Squirrel Burrell won the 400m hurdles, cliched the team title for LSU, and set the world U20 record in the process...there was a thread full of nothing but praise. Every comment was positive, congratulations... then you see this comment...
quote:
Great race! pisses me off ESPN again focuses on their choices and again as usual they are wrong!
When The Crusty Oldster with a Personal Problem does bring himself to praise certain people, it's not "Congrats Squirrel" or any personal acknowledgment. It's a deliciously ironic "Great race!". But it can't just be that. Vague praise for the field. Nice enough, right? No... The Crusty Oldster with a Personal Problem needs to qualify his statement of praise with a complaint.
You chose to be The Crusty Oldster with a Personal Problem. By making that choice, the only judgment I see that's clouded is yours, but the hood may be blocking your view.
Say less and be better.

So what???
SR said she knew what she was doing, now she can watch those she defeated win the medals.
By rules she is not deserving!

If she simply didn’t smoke weed, she’d be participating. Saying weed shouldn’t be tested for is a different issue and has some merits

How stupid is it that people think marijuana is as bad as alcohol.
It’s a dumb rule. A stupid law. And I hope they use this to highlight the absurdity
